This is recommended by the BIS (bureau of Indian Standards) TDS Count Water Quality 0 to 150 Unacceptable, because of too less minerals 150 to 300 Excellent 300 to 500 Good 600 to 900 Fair 900 to 12000 Poor Above 12000 Unacceptable, because of too much impurities and Minerals Water Below 100 TDS is very dangerous as at this level water has more dissolving capacity. This is harmful as it may dissolve even the storage medium like plastic tanks or bottles. TDS above 500 is not good for hair, eyes and kidneys. Saying one figure say that 300 for TDS is misnomer .there has to be a range and as indicated above TDS less than 150 is unacceptable.
