Does this support CEC Volume Control (Consumer audio control) via HDMI ARC input? I need to use my Yamaha HS5 Studio Monitors with my TV. My TV (Hisense 55U6G) supports CEC. But I'm not sure if SMSL PS-100 supports CEC to be able to control the output from the RCA jacks via TV's Remote Control. Can you please let me know. Have you tested if the volume control works?

I have to ask you someting if this connected to the TV with hdmi arc, can you control the volume through the remote of the tv?
@mostwanted_007
@mostwanted_007 Күн бұрын
@@micinum Yep. It does. I tried it. It even sounded good with my Yamaha HS5 studio monitors. However, I decided to return it because of a few reasons 1. The volume control via remote only happened in 7 or 8 point increments and 0 to 100 volume were only in steps of 7 or 8. This was a bit too coarse for subtle control. 2. There was some delay between our volume control inputs on the TV remote and the actual volume reducing. 3. When the TV goes into standby mode, the PS 100 also went into standby and we'd have to power cycle it for it to connect back. Also I did not have sufficient mounting space for my Yamaha HS5 beside the TV. So I decided to return it and just shelled out for a Yamaha YAS 209! I still loved the sound output from my HS5 monitors though. If you don't mind a little fiddly volume control and the issue with power cycling, you can be sure that this is a very good solution to connecting your studio monitors to your TV at a very reasonable price. It just didn't work out for me as I expected though.

A speech synthesizer in all its digital glory, with skipped syllables and randomized speed. This poor man with the English accent has been made to say the wildest things. People won't notice AI deepfakes after listening to him. You can't adjust a motor of a turntable or tape capstan to have the "speed that is needed" down to a picosecond, and keep it steady without wow and flutter. These unexpected deviations are what makes the output seem more alive, different between replays. In PCM you can encode an absolutely tiny delay between left and right and keep it locked. It is proportional not only to the sampling rate but also to the SNR. Bob Stuart made a universal "decrypter" that supposedly works with any ADC on earth to "deblur" the signal. This sounds just like MQA. Nobody can write a million lines of code. They can make a computer generate long impulse responses and express those as textual numbers. Code is logic that a human arranges to do work, and more elegant code is smaller. Dynamic range of 127 dB but can reproduce microsonics ot -300 dB. Accepts 768 kHz, but can only reproduce 20 kHz? And AC coupled at 20 Hz? I guess they don't want you to test it with something like a PAL video signal. In the meantime, in Soviet Russia a "tsap" makes you do a "drum dance" with a tambourine.

The difference is in the mastering. Streaming services usually only offer 1 version, which is usually the latest one with high loudness. People often disagree on sites like Stevehoffman about which version is better when there is a choice. On the web they put out suboptimal copies that would be "trumpable": gaps left out, abrupt cuts or fades on segued tracks, ripping errors when the source was a CD, lossy transcodes. Make a spectrogram of any hi-rez and look where the noise floor is: substantially higher than 96 dB. Out of these available levels, we can only tolerate a narrow floating window. Imagine being blasted by a Metallica PA - in the middle of the night - and then trying to hear a pin drop. You'll need Musk's neuralink to hear in outer space.

The X-2000M does NOT have a 2 side recording capability. This is a semi-professional 2-track master mashine, recording is made on one side of the tape only. However, it can REPRODUCE 4 track recordings. But you WILL need to flip the reels, there is no auto-reverse capability on this machine.

I no longer buy a single Chinese product because I came close to bankruptcy, the filing of bankruptcy for my company because of China which rotted the planet with the Wuhan virus in 2020 and 2021. The horror of this pandemic. In addition, China is the world champion in counterfeiting, that worries me because JBL has a factory in China. It's very tricky to ask a reseller if they get their supplies from the official importer. Indeed, you should know that parallel networks like Alibaba, Made in China, Amazon supply individual users and also stores. I won't take the risk. I only buy JBL made in Mexico.

Does the 4305P have a self-noise issue? I have a pair of the JBL 308P MKII monitors. They have a constant 'self-noise' hiss in the white-noise area that's very perceptible (with or without inputs connected, with or without signal playing), and this 'hiss' doesn't change with the volume controls turned up or down (except for the in the 'min 0' and 0.5 positions where the noise and the signal disappears entirely). Does the 4305P have this noise issue and is that an unavoidable feature of Class D digital amps? If I was recording very wide dynamic range music I wouldn't want to use my 308's as reference for noise-floor purposes. Thanks for all of your very informative posts! Subscribing now!

@@PremiumHIFIworld thank you! With my 308 monitors I can hear it from 2 m or more away in the room when it's quiet. I've seen other posts about the same problem. I think it's mostly a problem with program material that has true silence in portions or PPP passages. but that's what we get for paying low prices for genuinely good sounding monitors.

The 900 has trickle down parts and circuitry from the A110 so expect it will sound better than the 800 and 600. Judging by the review here it doesn’t sound like the 600 in the bass or the 800 overall. I had both of those amps and were very different to each other. The 900 sounds a more well rounded amp.

Most vinyl does NOT have the magic of good sound. Pops, clicks, scratches, TT rumble, IGD...please. Any decent R2R/multibit DAC and Tidal HIFI wipes out all but the highest end vinyl reproduction. You certainly don't need a $13k DAC.

Nice with another take in the Model 5’s 👍 If anything I believe this review misses out on the fact that a closed box speaker like this, will roll off much more gradually, compared to a ported design. So even if the -3db point is not the lowest in frequency, it still might play lower or as low as a ported speaker with lower -3db point.
