Thanks for the advice but you’re a bit late to the party we’ve known for a long time and that’s why we stop selling this rubbish, unlike other prominent oud sellers who are still peddling this nonsense idea of being able to produce something that takes decades to produce in a matter of 3 to 5 years. The two main culprits who have been pushing this rubbish wood is this so-called expert incense maker and the other is a forum that’s full of sciolist.

@@TheOudArtisan thanks, just remove the video in future if you know its a scam OR be a proper good Samaritan and make a video confirming its all fake lol good luck bud

I appreciate your input, but I will not remove this video. This is a record of my initial reaction to all the gaslit comments surrounding this product from prominent oud sellers in the West and the gasfield comments on an oud forum that still promotes this rubbish. I fully intend to make a follow-up video addressing this particular video you’re referring to and, in the spirit of being a “proper good Samaritan,” I’ll explain why I think this oud is a load of rubbish. By the way, could you kindly explain why this is so concerning to you? Do you have a horse in this race? Thanks for the suggestion!

Exactly, even more so with oud. I see too many reviewers plunge on their wrist and claim the oud is barnyardy etc. I always advise people to let the smell reach you.
@TheOudArtisanАй бұрын
Absolutely, you make an excellent point. Oud is indeed a complex fragrance, and letting the scent reach you naturally can provide a much more accurate representation of its true character. I completely agree with your observation, and I plan to make a video addressing this very topic. Apologies for the late response, and thank you so much for your valuable input!

Can you recommend me something like ombré Nomade but with a stronger oud note. I’m really into barnyard oud now! Love the opening note that smells anamalic!
@TheOudArtisanАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment! If you’re looking for a fragrance with a stronger oud note, I highly recommend trying our Hindi oud oils. They have an incredible animalic aroma that would complement the barnyard oud scent you’re into. To get the best experience, you can apply a few drops of the Hindi oud oil first and then spray your fragrance of choice over it. This method will enhance the oud note and give you a richer, more complex scent profile. Enjoy!

Sir. May I ask? Does chewing raw Boswellia like you demonstrated in this video have positive affects neurologically? The brain. Nerves. Muscles. Tendons. Ligaments. Joints ?
@TheOudArtisan2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! I want to clarify that I am not an expert in Frankincense nor do I claim to be any type of medicinal expert. My video was simply a demonstration of a traditional practice. There has been scientific research conducted on the effects of Frankincense, including its impact on various aspects of health. I recommend looking up research on Google for detailed and scientifically-backed information regarding its neurological and other health effects. This way, you can find accurate and comprehensive data from credible sources.

Personally, to me, oud is wayyyy too overrated. I legitimately think it's what God gave to the people of the Middle East by way of odorant - much like He dotted odorants of different types for all around the globe - and the Arabs were at the back of the queue so they got oud. And because that's all they got, their noses became accustomed to it and an association formed with it and all those pleasant experiences. But there's more to the world of odorants. Much more. So, I feel when people do belly dances around tiny bottles of this stuff or write love poems to it, or whatever they do, it's a little overrated. Get out there, dudes. Go visit Grasse. Or something. This brown stuff is not your only friend.

Wallah brother I get so irritated when I smell incense in the mosques. It makes all kinds satanic ideas come through. 😅😅😅
@TheOudArtisan2 ай бұрын
I’m really sorry to hear that you get irritated by incense. Across different religious traditions, there's a belief that God, His messengers, and angels appreciate pleasant aromas. This belief further reinforces the use of incense as a way to honor and please the divine entities in various religious practices. Additionally, many types of incense, especially those containing oud, are believed to possess antibacterial properties. This adds a practical dimension to their spiritual use, as they not only create a pleasant atmosphere but also help cleanse the air, making the environment more conducive to prayer and meditation.

After a recent trip to Saudi Arabia where I believe I’ve been absolutely had buying fake oud from “reputable” houses such as AbdulSamad Al Qurashi and Arabian Oud I would really like to find more content about this and learn how to discern between real and fake oud wood. I have wood from abdulsamad that cost almost £10/g and looks great on the outside but is white on the inside and hardly produces any oil or smell when burnt. In contrast I have cheaper oud from Arabian Oud for about £3/gram which produces tons of smoke and bubbly tar engulfs the whole piece within minutes but I am convinced this is “Sinai oud” In both cases I now think I’ve been given fake or doctored wood from places where I expected to pay a premium but could trust in return.
@TheOudArtisan5 ай бұрын
@domhamai, your experience highlights a common challenge in the oud market, where distinguishing between authentic and synthetic or lower-grade oud can indeed be perplexing, especially given the reputation of the sources you’ve mentioned. (Without examining the products directly), it’s hard to make a definitive judgment. However, based on your descriptions: • The piece from AbdulSamad Al Qurashi that looks great on the outside but is white on the inside and hardly produces any oil or smell might not be what you expect from high-grade oud. Real oud, especially of high quality, should be rich in resin and aromatic compounds, influencing both its appearance and olfactory output when heated or burned, but this is the one out of the two which is real in my opinion. • As for the cheaper oud from Arabian Oud, producing a lot of smoke and bubbling tar can indicate the presence of additives or treatment processes meant to enhance its appearance and immediate olfactory impact. Sanai oud isn’t completely synthetic, but is man-made and can give the illusion of high-grade. Distinguishing real from fake or assessing the quality of oud is an art and science, requiring not just knowledge but also hands-on experience with various grades of oud. If you’re keen on delving deeper into this fascinating world, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be introducing a specialized sampling course at our newly opened store in central London. We’ll make a public announcement with all the details in the next few weeks. This course is designed for enthusiasts like yourself who wish to gain a deeper understanding and firsthand experience with the nuances of oud. Instead of relying solely on external information, which can often be misleading or insufficient, we believe that the real experience of oud comes from direct engagement with the material. Consider this an invitation to move beyond free schooling and embark on a journey to truly discern and appreciate the essence of real oud. Stay tuned for our announcement, and we hope to welcome you to our sampling course, where the rich world of oud awaits your discovery
