Which fuse you connected to the red wire? I tried install to my Traverse, and connected the red wires with the Headlights fuse, but the LED lights just always on even my car is not turn on!😢
@4WardJourney16 сағат бұрын
I connected my red wire to a fuse that was called headlight alignment. In my case it was fuse 37 but I expect it could be different on a Chevy traverse. You want to check for fuse that is tied to the ignition so It only comes on when the car turns on.

If I May ask about something on a different subject, do you have any problems with your exhaust fan leaking water during a heavy rain. The one above the kitchen area.
@4WardJourney3 ай бұрын
Yes, we have had leaks at that fan during very heavy rains. I have tried to put extra sealant, dicor, on the roof, and it has helped, but not totally solved it. I really like the fantastic fan but it is annoying that there is an occasional leak there.

I just did another job of putting on some sealant around the fan - I found a joint about a quarter of an inch up on the actual fan housing and I wondered if water might be getting up there because the seal between the fan and the Van roof looks OK - so I’ve put sealant now around that seam on the actual fan itself- hope it helps. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I fully understand your trials in DIY repairs to an electrical system. I installed one on my Microcamper (Promaster City). I recently upgraded the battery to Lithium because my AGM voltage dropped below the 12v fridge’s low voltage cutout way too early. I highly recommend getting Lithium batteries and a dedicated DC-DC charger when the time comes. The ‘smart’ alternator references the highest voltage it senses (usually the chassis battery). The DC controller can be configured to optimize charging for any battery (AGM or Lithium) Enjoy Florida!

Hello from the west coast of Canada. In early 2023 I got a Bolt euv Lt1 -- which comes with the driver and comfort packages in Canada -- as a commuting tool only, and I liked it so much I sold five gas and diesel vehicles (the then-still-crazy used car market helped that decision). I wish the Bolt had a heat pump, but the lowest-priced Tesla 3 was $14,000 more at the time, and it wasn't worth it to me. The efficient, little Bolt is saving me so much money because gas here in Canada is expensive; reg gas here now is $6.25/us gal, and in the summer it was $7.50/gal. With home charging $0.1406/kwh here, driving the Bolt costs me 1/3 what it cost to put gas in my '19 Prius, which averaged a calculated 56 us mpg over 55K miles. Faster charging would be nice, but I hope the Bolt's slow charging helps the battery last longer with less degradation. My euv was $42,000 out the door here, but in 2023 the average price of a new car in Canada was $66K plus tax.
@4WardJourney5 ай бұрын
Hello! Thanks for watching - and sharing your Bolt EUV story. Yes, as a commuter car the Bolt makes so much sense. I would agree with you that the slower fast charging rate may bring benefits in the long term in overall battery life. Have a great day in beautiful BC!

So there are no greenhouse gases using a Bolt?
@4WardJourney5 ай бұрын
Hi - yes in terms of driving - the electric cars do not produce green house gases themselves. As mentioned in the video, there can be greenhouse gases produced by the underlying source of the electricity production for example coal, however, even if the electricity is produce by fossil fuel - the net result of using an electric car is less greenhouse gas than an internal combustion engine car.

I have a 2020 Bolt but rarely use the heater - it saves a lot (though I've only measured it on a 100 mile round trip). As I dress for the weather outside before I get in the car, I use the seat heater and steering wheel heater (such a good thing) and just have the fan setting at 2; I average about 3.7 mi/Kwh even down to 25oF (haven't driven any trips at lower temps yet. Liked your video !

Are you really saving money on gas, based on your charge rates/cost it seems like a wash. Do the same trip in a civic or corolla and i think that you get to your destination soon for equal or less cost. Im i off base?
@4WardJourney6 ай бұрын
Good question - yes I think the “fuel” cost of an electric car on a road trip, where you are charging at public DC fast chargers, is probably a wash with a high efficiency gas car. Where the savings come in are on those more frequent days when you can charge at home for a lower cost. The other longer term savings comes from the lower cost of maintaining an EV compared to an internal combustion engine. Also there is the environmental benefits of reducing greenhouse gases.
