1:16 Seeing Inko break down like this was a gut-punch. Like, yes, Uraraka’s speech is very moving, but I’m looking at it from inko’s pov too. A mother who fears everyday for her son’s safety, who’s probably wondered what will happen to her brazen, self-sacrificial, only child when she’s gone; she now has an answer, that there are people who will continue to reach out even to him, and help him realize he doesn’t need to face his problems alone. I think that’s what those tears symbolize. “Whatever this girl at the front of the crowd means to my son, it’s someone who cares about him, and she and others will be there for him, when I’m gone.” That’s what I think at least.

I’m not familiar with MHA outside of the anime, but the introduction of Star (and Stripe) solidified her as one of my favorite female characters in anime. Sure she was only onscreen for a moment, but it was her moment, and she existed as a complete BADASS every second of it!
