You are not suppose to use it with your left hand. Just because you can use it with one hand doesn’t mean you should. Instead of holding on the tree with one hand, trust your gear. Use your positioning lanyard and trust it. That safety button was the best thing that saw has for a safety feature.

It’s been pretty good to me so far a couple O rings , (5min fix) and I had the bearings go out but I’m thinking that was from what we grind, palms seem to love getting all caught up in the lower bearings. Good teeth and let er eat! I’ve been really happy with it so far
@ngbbane9097
@ngbbane9097 Жыл бұрын
@@michaelbouwer4285 How long did it take to replace the bearings? What did the parts cost? I'm guessing you changed the shaft as well? My bearing are still original but the upper sprocket that drives the cutter wheel belt wore out at around 300 hours. That was $450. Rayco also shipped the machine with defective swing cylinders. That cost me a grand. 🤑🤮
@michaelbouwer4285
@michaelbouwer4285 Жыл бұрын
@@ngbbane9097 they went out really early I think it was around 70 hrs but when I got them apart they had so much palm fiber wrapped in it I figure that was the problem since then learned to grind palms way different ha and I think parts were 900 ish and I did the labor myself it took probably half a day. Definitely need a puller though to get a few things off but wasn’t to terrible a job

I have the 161T for about 3 years, I have used and abused it beyond manufacturers recomendation so far this little saw never failed, it comes with 25cm bar and I change to 30cm, normaly I used with one AP200 battery even I have all batteries from AP200 to AP500S but to me feels better balanced with AP200.

Which do you think feels better the 10 or 12 inch bar? Do you notice much difference?
@sirvozelo1
@sirvozelo1 9 ай бұрын
@@jonathangreally1034 I keep the 10" the saw comes with and a new chain as a back up. I change for the 12" bar the saw feels better balanced and it performs the same, I just use the 12". My brother buy one 161T after me witch same as mine comes with a 10" bar, he already change it for the 12" to. In our case both saws come standard with 10" bars.

@@sirvozelo1 thanks your info. At my Stihl dealer you can choose which bar it comes with, it’s just very fractionally more with 30cm more but if you think it feels better balance and performance is same I kind of leaning to 30cm bar. Also wondering if it might be same chain as on the Hta86? And on the pole pruner attachment that run the smaller 1/4”P and have 30cm bar.
@sirvozelo1
@sirvozelo1 9 ай бұрын
You can be sure it have no problem, the gauge size in mine is same the 25cm and the 30cm. With 30cm it feels better balanced and easier to work with machine. I have also the MSA 220C and the MSA300. The 220C, mine comes with a 40cm Rollomatic bar and I change to 35cm Light 04 it performs better, the MSA300 comes with a 40cm Light 04 and I change to 45cm Light 04 witch feels better to. On the 220C I have to change the sprocket because the chain gauge change, on the MSA300 no because is the same size gauge. Hope I can still read my 161T bar information because I have used it heavily but I will try. Isn't possible here or I with send you a picture of mine. If you not understand something let me know.
