I’m totally doing this but I think I need to paint the roof, too. It looks rough. If you had to paint your roof, what color would you use? The same as mix? Maybe a brown to match the door trim you left unpainted?

Hi - this is a wonderful video. Can I please ask how do you even the oil? I saw you’re using a cloth after you applied the oil, does the cloth have any product on it? Thank you.
@AtCharlottesHouse28 күн бұрын
I just followed the directions on the oil container which were to let it sit for a short amount a time and then wipe clean!

Paint is also a preservative when applied to wood and would increase the lifespan of the bottom of your frame if painted.

Yep! That's all pressure treated ground contact lumber so should hold up well regardless.

I have a shed about the exact same size and actually looks pretty similar to your before picture. Just wondering how many cans of the Rust-Oleum paint you had to use? And did you paint the back side? thank you. Money is really really tight right now and I can't decide before I have an estimated cost.
@AtCharlottesHouse28 күн бұрын
I made a custom color so ended up mixing paint a bit, but... no more than 1 quart! I left the back without paint. :)

Nice work but, I still can see white and blue paint every time that you open a drawer. That looks really bad. That to me feels like a unfinished project.
@AtCharlottesHouse28 күн бұрын
The drawers are closed like 99.99% of the time so... not an issue for me.

@@AtCharlottesHouse Well, it is for some people. It is for me. For me looks bad. Is still a matter of preferences anyway. My personal opinion. Thanks for the reply.

I crackle painted an armoir that had a waterfall original finish that was a part of my parents original bedroom set-think 1940’s. Well now I’m in the process of TRYING to remove to crackle, hoping to strip crackle without removing the varnish and waterfall finish. It is a lesson in patience, and I’ve found the original finish cannot be spared. So, once all the green is off-gonna be a while, I’ll see if I want to stain as close to natural color, or just poly the whole thing. Thanks for showing us your process.
