Do you remember when we used to Have " alternative " bands and they were a combatant to pop? Then there is this. I loved the wonderstuff late eighties , early nineties. Then they faded away into this.

This actually weirds me out for some reason, not your version - which is fantastic - and I love the singer's priceless expressions too as he takes the piss out of Kevin. And so he should because his lyrics were just bizarre ways of trying to make himself the head of a movement that only existed in his own head. All that guff about searching for the new soul rebels, Kevin Rowlands lyrics; "Keep quoting Cabaret, Berlin, Burroughs, Duchamp, Bauvoir, Kerouac, Kierkegaard" he sings, and then out of the blue he plops in "Michael Rennie," I mean, how do you go from Hot Buttered Soul to quoting all those unreadable books, to MICHAEL RENNIE? He was in The Day The Earth Stood Still - a c-rap movie. He is, in this song telling Robin, a fictional friend, that quoting all these twats makes him a twat. This is ironic, as mentioning all those names in a soul song makes Kevin look like twat. Hey, I love this cover, and I love Dexy's, but who would disagree that Kevin dresses like a twat too!!

Yeah, Kevin should have stuck to rap lyrics. You clown😅😅

Sad you didn't make it to the states for this, but if you ever do again I'll be there. Saw you in Portland Oregon in 1992, been a fan since HUP and when this album came out I was confirmed a fan for life. Love it. I love the latest stuff too, So thanks!

Never lived Elvis is one of my all time favourite albums and obviously that makes it the best Wonder stuff album. But this album I do not really like. I did go see the Wonder Stuff on this tour I was about 17 or 18 at the time. Have not seen a Stuffies gig since the 2 Martins left the band. My excuse for not going to this tour is I now live in the Philippines. Anyhow enjoy the tour.
