46:25 "You must understand that sometimes faithful biblical ministry can be a lonely business with a lot of opposition." Good word

I wish that the first lecture in this series were still available. I watched all four and they were excellent and God used them to draw me closer to Himself. Christopher's commentary on Job is also excellent and well worth the time to read. I wish that in my 50+ years of church involvement there would have been a pastor who prepared me for trials. When they came they knocked me off my feet and left me questioning God -- not a good place to be! Now I see how necessary trials are and that Scripture is clear that they are part of the Christian life, but from experience I know how easy it is (at least in America) to miss out on being prepared. I should have realized from James that we are to welcome trials and to be excited that God is working in our lives. Thank you, Christopher Ash, for opening the richness of the book of Job to me and allowing me to see and experience Christ's love for me through trials.

DA Carson is one of my most influential and trustworthy teachers through his commentaries, books, and sermons. This sermon is published in, “Scandalous,” and I was privileged to hear him preach it several years ago near Seattle, WA

Is Bryan Chapell trying to reconstruct the early Church Mass? I hear his students agree with him with, amen, they follow him without protest, which is interesting since they are Protestant. He’s a communications scholar! He’s a wonderful speaker, but not a scholar of liturgy. Why?! The Roman C-c-c-c-atholic Church celebrates the Mass as it was in the beginning. I absolutely love listening to Dr. Chapell, but he misses the mark here. I dare you to research. Hahaha, “very few Protestants know that ...” And you all laughed.

I am thoroughly enjoying these teachings. My question regarding the singers of verses 9-10 is, do they not represent the church since the pronouns "us and we" are used? He has redeemed us, made us to be kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth?
