I can't F'ing stand "ONE Championship". We need to revive the "Phuthon" scene and get rid of open scoring and bring back the gamblers on RWS and everything will be just perfect how it should be.

His degree of self-criticism (he barely considers a non-KO a win) will make him even more of a phenom. This kid is the truth.

These are great Joe, really appreciate getting the inside look on the UK and AUS scenes. I’ve found myself digging into UK fighters competing in the higher level Thailand scene and the AUS shows big time this year and your podcast has been pointing me in the right direction(s). You’re pretty spot on with the assessment with the state of American Muay Thai. Our scene is very disjointed with varying rule sets and the lack of authentic judges/promoters/educators, etc. It’s miles ahead of where it was when I was fighting 15 years ago, but still a ways to go. WBC is becoming more involved in developing scrimmage leagues -> professional domestic contest pipeline, and our US Muay Thai national team has been growing steadily with larger tournaments to decide team members as well as US Muay Thai co-promoted shows that use IFMA rules and regs.

Yeah we’re quite far behind but things are definitely looking bright for the future. Like you said the WBC is starting to put on a lot more shows and events in the near future and I’ve also heard through word of mouth about other new shows coming to the states soon 👀. Scoring is definitely still a bit of an issue thought with the different scoring systems and lack of knowledge in some judging.

Joe, you're bridging a gap no one else does. Thank you for doing what you do and connecting western fans with fighters in this way. MMA media is so saturated, yet western Muay Thai fans have very little. This content is greatly appreciated. I have a question... I am wanting to support fighters / gyms by purchasing some of the training/ walk out jerseys, like those you are wearing here. Are they available to the public to buy, do you know?
@joecomerfordmuaythai7 ай бұрын
Hey mate, thank you for the great feedback I really appreciate it. Normally these jerseys are a one off print for training partners or people who are associated with gyms in Thailand. However, sometimes fighters will sell or giveaway merch on their Instagram. So definitely check out your favorite fighters Instagrams if they are doing give aways.
