I have done the antwerp harbour cruise many times ,on the video there does not seem too many ships in port on the day ,however the large tankers are crude carriers the smaller ones are chemical or product tankers ,.you are right there was a container terminal in the delwaidedock this was msc,European home port how ever there is a huge new Dock on th e opposite side or the river called the deurdanck Dock this also has a large lock to it,but the ships can get into the river without using the lock.the container ships now use this Dock it it is also the home of msc the Mediterranean shipping company. I would suggest that shipping enthusiasts like my self also go to terneuzen not only will you see ships going to and from antwerp you will also catch all sorts going through th new locks to ghent you will see every thing from coasters to large bulk carriers here there are also hotels in ternuezen plus at a place called sluiskil,I can guarantee you will.not be dis appointed here

Done this boat twice, once in 1993 and the next in 2000. Good times, everybody was puking and I was the only Gwailo first time. Shanghai had donkeys and carts lol. The trip up from the sea to Shanghai was spectactular.

Thanks for this. I'm doing that crossing in May so it's good to see that train + ferry (starting London) is defo the smarter choice than flying.

Very comprehensive briefing... I am also planning similar route from Shanghai > Osaka > Maizuru > Ortua too. Thank you for your information Compared to Japanese domestic ferry, the vessel is below the standard (no Onsen on deck / food and catering choices). Anyway it still a great experience

I never eat or drink anything until I'm out in the middle of the sea. I remember before I ate breakfast leaving port and boy did I pay the price when the ship got out it was rough as hell I was throwing up everywhere. Sailing on a rough sea is not the most pleasant of experiences. She can get really rough out there on the Irish sea.

Nice video. I have ridden it several times. A nice, relaxing way to get to the beach and back to Sydney. I am going there again in January.

Prompted by this video I travelled on the Norröna on its Aug. 16-18, 2023 crossing from Hirtshals to Seyðisfjörður (delayed by a day owing to bad weather). It did not disappoint! No, it’s not like cruising with Viking or Carnival, but the old tub has a funky-friendly ambience that seems exactly appropriate to its workhorse duties. I was particularly taken with the bookshelves in the Deck 5 bar, where I spent a lot of time just sitting and looking out at the ocean. As in the video, the Faroes were the high point. Thanks for making me aware of this wonderfully unpretentious, down-to-earth treasure.
