I remember I couldn't pass 4th or 5th level, but I remember I had Castle theme, but never unlocked Adventure. I wish I could again this game.

I absolutely loved Lego Island 1, and I was beyond stoked when I saw the the sequel came out. But Lego Island 2 was so bad, I remember I literally stopped playing it after like 15 mins, and never touched it again. The voice acting is cringey and boring, music is bland and forgettable, graphic is worse than 1 with textures being super blurry (How a 2001 game looks worse then a 1997 game is beyond me), and all Lego characters now move like some soft jelly instead of hard rigid plastic like the original. That's the reason why the first one gained a huge cult following while the sequel was just forgotten.

We got this from the library one time. Our parents didn't like how our computer would be bricked during loading screens, which took upwards of ten minutes. And the titular house that Pepper gets? You stare at one wall or the other. Took ten minutes to load in, ten minutes to load out. We never got it again, contrasting how often we'd get Alpha Team, Island 1, and Racers (to the point that when Alpha Team was retired from the library they just gave us the disc because we were the only family checking it out since they got it)

I played the first one when it came out, without seeing the opening or knowing anything about it, me AND a buddy couldn't figure it out, could barely navigate the game, we didn't grow up on CPU games we were console children, I personally still am, and Myst is partly the main reason for that as well as computer illiteracy lol either way, I miss this era in gaming the odd pre rendered backgrounds and such gaming was juuuust popular enough to get the trust and funding to try new things, and basically make digital art, but now that we ,the gamers ,the original gamers screwed up, we let every corporate entity into gaming, which results in the gaming scape you see today, devs and publishers not caring about the game anymore, just how much return they can promise, just through micro transactions, it's us the old guard that are to blame, and i apologize to you youngins

4:55 you say "Spire and Haven" but if i remember correctly Haven is the red book on the left and Spire is the blue book on the right. Just a small thing..

Did you realise there are mysteries and things you can do with the buildings? Like but 4 water fountains together to make a big fountain, place four gasometers together to make a bit one. Placing two of the right sky scraper makes a robot, somehow you are able to make the super conductor spawn. etc.

I loved lego Island 2 even though my dad had to complete the big bertha mission for me. I never had the first one, but I did have xtreme stunts later. I liked lego Island 2 a lot more than extreme stunts.

Just a really small detail: the Black Ships comic has the brothers' names interchanged. So Achenar is supposed to be Sirrus, and Sirrus is supposed to be Achenar.

Im from 95’ and i dont share your negative opinion, this game was absolutely amazing as a kid, the islands, yeah the music is cringy now but back then it was fun, loved the islands an challenges, the medieval, jungle and desert parts felt so adventurous and there was a lot variety. Collecting pages was very rewarding, story was great, a lot of gameplay variety. 10/10 game back in the dat

I liked the first game overall more, the minigames from this game were fun. And I did like chasing pages and bots. I didn't finish it because the jumping in the tower at the end was too hard for me as a kid.

I love how nobody ever points out that when you first start off on riven, you can look over the cliff edge to your right and see the body of Cho laying down below. He was darted, and then thrown over the edge. Also, you can look thru the viewer and crack the glass and end up ripping the fissure open and just like that, you lose all your progress and start from day 1 where you found your byst book, and have to work all the way back to, and thru riven (although it just ends the game by starting the opening scene, where this time you're falling and linking to safety, instead of atrus, thus leaving the book behind for someone else to find) There were 4 endings. That one, the good one, the bad one, and the sad one. Riven is also the only myst game where the player has a chance to actually die.

There are more than four endings actually. Also, if you look later in the game, Cho is no longer laying down there below. Who knows who collected him. If Ghen had an underling collect his body (because no way is he going to do hard labor like that), I wonder what they did with it. There’s certainly no graveyard on the islands. It’s odd that the Moiety killed Cho by throwing him off the edge like that (I wonder why - Cho is their own people after all, even if he’s an “enemy” for having chosen to align with Ghen). They certainly didn’t have to kill him, as we know from the first time they merely darted him and left him alive, as well as when our player was darted by them and left alive.

I know these are several years old by now, but with the myst remaster in 2021, and the riven remake in June of this year, 2024, I've been re emphatuated with the myst saga again. Part 1 ended up in my feed, and I subbed because that, and this one so far, are golden. Here's to hoping the rest of your content is as intriguing as the myst videos are.

A lot of the stuff you used to do in the game is EXACTLY what I'd do, such as making tweaks and naming the people in my town after people I knew. I especially had fun with the mail delivery. But I think I'll end it there as what I would send would be crazy asf.

Even if the buildings didn't have missions at the beginning, they could've at least made some at the end of the game - like after the game is finished. They could've also made it so that you could play as other characters after the main plot is over. Just saying.

Uhmm Yes this game is gorgeous. Esp.3 also the light in shade when you go down the forbidden river with mist and the tripod with the artwork--- You call "creepy" ---Light and shade is beautiful there.
