Definitely love watching SABER interviews. I've been a follower of his work since I saw the L.A river piece when i was a youngster, that sparked the flame of obsession in my soul. It definitely will be a sad day for L.A. and the culture when this guy leaves us, but until then, I'll continue to enjoy the madness he produces.

Graffiti is the most important Artistic Movement of the second half of the 20th century up thru the present day. And, the only artistic movement to have been created by children & youth with no formal training. That's why it's so important. Art by the proletariat, for the proletariat. Using the property of the bourgeoisie & the State as its canvas. Turning the artists into outlaws. Truly revolutionary. One day, its importance will be recognized. SABER is easily one of the top 3 most important artists alive. But ranking artists like they are athletes or something is a pointless endeavor. Dude is dope. How he distills his pain and struggles into beautiful pieces of art. Exactly like Van Gogh did. It's crazy how overlooked & stigmatized graffiti still is, despite being somewhat embraced by the art galleries, collectors & big corporations (usually just to sell our own culture back to us.) Your average Joe on the street wouldn't know who the hell Saber is 9 times out of 10. It's crazy how, just like Van Gogh, he is mostly overlooked by the world at large during his actual lifetime. In 50-100 years from now (if civilization is even still around), he will be celebrated as one of the greatest visual artists of his time. The city of Los Angeles will probably spend millions in the name of culture & tourism commemorating his life. And probably re-create the giant river piece. That they spent millions to buff with ugly ass tan paint in the first place. Instead of preserving it like they should have. The art world is so short-sighted & fickle. Don't ever get discouraged if your creations are not widely embraced. Most people don't know shit from Shinola. Especially so-called "experts" and art professors who get paid to sniff 100 year old farts. There's incredible art happening here & now. Don't ever get discouraged by those fools. Make your stuff, whether it be Graff or music or whatever, and rock with it. Don't listen to naysayers. Distill your misery & suffering into beauty. That's real alchemy right there. Saber & Van Gogh are great examples of real, live alchemists. Give the man his roses while he's still with us.

thanks immensely for answering my question! (why no round shaders) Hearing Grime talk about the ambiguity in each needle's purpose gives me a better picture of what ya'll are going for. What I'm hearing is that the needles are less tailored toward specific scenarios (lining, shading, etc.) and more towards certain attributes/characteristics to give them certain strengths that the artist can decide what to do with themselves. While I feel like this could be confusing initially (I will admit) I can see how that philosophy should lead to a better product. A tool's master is intent. Thanks ya'll - cheers!

Saber always speaks deep when he does a interview/discussion about the graffiti culture.. His perspective and outlook about graffiti art is interesting and makes you think differently.. One thing I realized from what he has said is that what gang members deal with and see in the hood so do we.. The difference is we go through multiple hoods and never know what could happen..

"Graffiti is the outlet for all the mishaps and the misfortunes and the weirdos and the fuckups and the sociopaths and everybody who needs an outlet that can't find one" 49:25 Epitome of Graffiti "Graffiti is special. It's also the lowest of the low. It's the most disgusting vile garbage of society."

Ahhhhhh DUUUUUDE!!!!!! I can't really explain it (potentially a reader of this will get this) but when you feel like you've been watching the video and gaining so much energy, inspiration and honest to fuck realness and poke the screen to reveal youre only 19mins 38 secs through the creative energy experience gifted once again by Grime and Blackcaw.... AND ITS FUCKING S A B E R since I first saw some mad flame doused blue dice on Bug's wrist and asked (20 years ago) who did them and he said Grime, raised an eyebrow and explained who you were.. I've been deadass inspired and pushed by how you have shown the capabilities and creative avenues from then till today.. Nice one Bruv! 🖤 ✌
