In addendum, the first work will always be repentance of sin. Faith and repentance are gifts of God, granted by His grace, undeserved and unearned, a monergestic work of God.The process of sanctification, producing the fruit (works) of repentance, obedience, etc being synergistic with the believer and powered by the Savior, not solely of ourselves.

I typically don't comment, however, for this I'll make an exception. This message was a complete distortion of what the book of James is about, especially this message on chapter 2. James lays out a series of tests for professing (keyword) believers. This passage isn't about CPR for your faith by resuscitation of works. It is about evidence of your salvation. No works (productivity, fruit), no salvation. See Eph 2:10. The word used here, "dead" (nekros) is the same word used to describe a dead sinner. Just sayin'.
