The Oxbow Incident. 1943. (See wikipedia) The movie did well, but had to compete with Casablanca.

Jay Silverheels was not even credited in this movie! At least list the FEATURED actors/actresses!! The name of the movie is "Fury At Furnace Creek", made in 1948 and co-starring Glenn Langan, Coleen Gray, Albert Dekker, Reginald Gardiner, Roy Roberts, Charles Kemper, Fred Clark, J Farrell MacDonald, Grif Barnett, and Robert Warwick.

Capt. Is Pat O'Brien. Cannot believe I had to look it up after the hundreds of times I've watched his movies, the same as the rest of his gang. Dang near as bad as forgetting my Uncles' names.

This is a bit silly, with a touch of slapstick, but there is thankfully little gratuitous violence and no killing. All's well that ends well; and this ending can leave you with a grin on your face. 😎 😎

VINTAGE MOVIES THE WORD IS "ADVERSARIES" NOT "RIVALS'! You wrote: "billy the kid kills many rivals" That's just plain stupid and it should be: Billy the kid kills many ADVERSARIES. Look up the definition of rival.

What a good and comical move with actors of years gone by! Special moments in time! I can relate to their challenges of aging. My mind remember the moments I could and the body tell of the time today when I can't. God has a sense of humor! Thank you for posting and sharing the movie!

I like some of the character actors; John Dehner is one, he in so many shows and always played the parts well, no matter what it was. That screen presence, when he'd be on Gunsmoke he outshone Arness. Gunsmoke's 1st 9 years with "Chester" in them were the best, Dennis Weaver my favorite of Gunsmoke fame...along with Sam the bartender & Hank the stable man.

I'll be sixty year old in a few minutes and I swear I don't remember seeing this movie. Hard to decide which one of Fondas movies I like best. The one where he stole his 18 wheeler from a repo company or him and Jimmy Stewart when Stewart inherited the cat house. Can't remember either name. Strokes will smash memories.

@macbeavers6938 . In it's time the saloon and dancing was a hot item! Men back then weren't use to seeing the mostly naked females like e are today. It was a thrill for a lot of them! A young Lloyd Bridges, a younger Paul Brinegar, "Wishbone", from 'Raw Hide' and a younger Edgar Buchanan, 'Uncle Joe Carlson' from 'Petticoat Junction', who stared or co-stared in many movies including westerns.
