Both your original boxed cushion tutorial plus this updated version are wonderful. I have watched so many videos, and your videos make the most sense to my brain by far! Thank you!! However, I'm struggling because my fabric is only 54" wide and my cut material needs to be 57x57 according to your formulas. I need to add a seam somewhere to get to 57", but I'm struggling with the math and where to add the seam so it doesn't show. Do you have any other videos or recommendations? Thanks!

I’ve been sewing for about 50 years, never thought todo zippers like that, thank you. One thought for fraying fabric, just zig zag if you don’t have a serger. Thales a bit more time and thread but worth it, especially on edges you zipper. I also spray with Scotch Guard, resists stains & moisture.

Hi 👋🏽 Thank you so much for this video! I got all the way up to the end where you make the last two cut outs at the corners ..Quick question… if my cushion is 4 1/2”, what should my corner measurements be? Thank you in advance for your help

Awesome tutorial! I was going to just turn my outdoor fabric into a huge, long pillowcase for my 6' bench cushion (×2 for seat and back) till I found your tutorial! Thank you for telling us the thread you used. I might've used regular thread. It's been about 20 years since I've done any sewing. I'm a little nervous about the project, but I'm sure with your tutorial, I can do it! Thanks again!

My cushion measures 40 x 15. That is the size foam +3 inch height of the foam. My measurements were 37 for the depth and 44 for the length. It is not long enough and is too deep. Any suggestions that I might do to fix this problem as it is quite expensive for the foam and fabric. 20:42

Which edge are you putting your zipper on? The 40” edge or the 15” edge?

Why is my cushion cover too small? My cushion measures 40 x 15 and the foam is 3 inches I cut the depth to 37 and the width to 44 is that correct? It is not long enough and too wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated as materials and foam are quite expensive.

Just now watching this video and have a much easier way to do those last 2 corners. Just orient the seam to be in the middle of a triangle and sew over the wide end of the triangle the correct depth you want the corner to be. Reinforce the seam and trim to the 1/2” seam allowance you are using and voila’ you have a quick corner.

This is the best video I came across! I found another video describing corners only which was great too. I started practicing with an environmentally friendly canvas drop cloth, minus the zipper. It actually looks nice. I used 5 inch foam with half inch Dacron. It's a little on the firm side. This is a 1960-70's cushion redo from my grandparents old wood den set. Thanks again!

I just finished making a futon cover using your first video last night and thought I would review the video again, just for memory sake, when I suddenly ran across your new updated video. Your first video was very good. My only complaint was that it was not in landscape mode so this video is much easier to watch, and very instructive as well. Thank you for taking the time to teach us all how to make cushion covers you are the best!

I didn’t find this as easy as I hoped 😂 but I was making a 2m long box cushion which might have been part of it. I really battle to make the zip ends neatly into the seam. Lit if ripping & redoing

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with the rest of us. I enjoyed the video and learned a lot, including the difference in zippers. I never even considered the different options. You are clearly very skilled and watching your speed, vs my own, reminds me that I’ve got a lot of practice ahead of me. I’m a mid 40s man who is always trying to learn something new. I purchased my “project runway-Brother” machine a few years ago but was soon sidetracked with 3D printing as my winter project. I’m hoping that someday one of my daughters will come to me for help sewing something. By then I hope to be able to show off my superb sewing/ upholstery skills and blow their minds. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Just wanted to say thank you for this video!! I am a total novice (this was my first project ever) and I was able to completely transform a $100 FB marketplace sofa and chair with new cushions. I even used the pattern to make the back cushion cover inserts (just didn’t add a zipper) and everything came out so beautifully. Can’t thank you enough!
