Hi, i think your defender looks great, im currently building my own, can you tell me where you bought your alloys? Im guessing you have to get them direct from twisted?

Thanks, yes I bought them direct several years ago, I don't know if they still sell sets any more or if you need to buy an entire Twisted Defender, I know they shut their online parts store a while ago but it may have changed since.

I been driving different Defenders 110 for the last 30 years. I now have nr.8. Newer had a problem and always start,even when -20 in the mountans

Didn't have that issue with mine, could be any one of multiple things causing that, best plugging it in to find out.

I have a 02 SMG. Had it for 10yrs... LOVE it. Wouldn't want a 6speed. I just keep fixing things when they go wrong, b/c for me.. the style, fun, and etc.. just can't be matched. By modern cars. Just something special about the e46 m3's. And i love the SMG.

Great video. How is it three years on? Looking at purchasing one any day now but just doing a little research here and some people are really criticising the quality of the materials and hardwear. Looking for something solid that will last years and years! Cheers!

I had a 110 200 tdi seven years ago and I was doing fifty miles a day and I was paying £250 a month in fuel. I would dread to think how much I would be spending to dayly drive it today

Great video! what year is your defender ? looked like you have 3 rear front facing seats? I am after a 2009, county wagon, which are abit more safe, air bags etc but the one I found only has 2 back front facing rear seats, is it possible to modify and add a third one on the 2009 models? I got 3 kids... hence the need for the 3 seat...

Thanks! It's a 2012 Puma. You can probably fit whatever seat configuration you like with enough fabrication, they're just giant tonka toys really

I've read that Camshaft failure is a problem with the 3ltr TDV6. Is that related to using the wrong oil ? The forums are recommending to only use Castrol edge 5/30

It's a 2012. Yes I upgraded the wipers, much better than oem which just moved the water around rather than clear it off the screen...

How do you disable the tilting mirror when reversing. It tilts too low

Just set mine up on my 2006 RRS HSE. It is connected with the seat memory function. Basically you set your seat up correctly and then press butoon M1, 2 0r 3 on the seat to store it. Then put car into reverse and adjust the angle of each mirror so you have the angl;e of tilt that you want and then press the memory button on the seat again. You should get a little message come up on the dash saying mirror position stored (orsomething similar - cant remember!). It details the procedure in the handbook. Hope this helps.

Those center caps are fitted from the rear as far as im aware and are held in place by the wheel (like mine are with my weller 8 spokes). When we take a vehicle to the garage we THOUROUGHLY clean everywhere, we then take a video of the vehicle as we are leaving it with them (we make sure they see us doing it).. we also refuse to allow them to valet it for us.... the result is they take so so much care and they rectify any issues. Great channel and Defender.😉 sorry forgot to add, we always clean the grit from between the centercap and wheel before wheel removal and if there is any tiny specs in there we also clean inside the alloy rim before reassembly, this way we ensure they dont accidentally scratch them.

Its the v8 thats reliable its the turbos on the 3.6 engine can be a problem your 3ltr is a crock a ticking time bomb the crank can just go at any time
