In my opinion I would just get the 6 if you can find it on discount, if not - probably a better idea to wait for the 7 if it comes out this year

Great video! Watching off my recently bought iPad mini 6 and I agree that it’s amazing for what it is. My first ever iPad and still so worth it in 2024. I use it for drawing/art & procreate, note taking for work and personal life, and I intend to take it for travelling which seems perfect due to its size.

Just bought one refurbished on Amazon and mine was practically new. No issue. I think it just depends on the seller. Luckily there is a 30 day warranty

Nice video. Here are my thoughts to your experience: - Outer amazon box: Looks ok to me. You did not buy it from Apple, so you should not expect that outer box. I think I only ever got the outer box, when ordering from Apple directly. I only recall the nice boxes from Apple for iPads and MacBooks. I can't recall, if I also got nice boxes for iPhones. - Activation problem: Might have been an intermittent internet connectivity problem. Or sometimes the Apple activation servers themselves might have a problem. But that is just me guessing of course. - Warranty started in December: This is definitely unacceptable. This would suggest, that this phone was somehow already activated in December of 2023. If there was no mention of a "used product" in the Amazon listing, then this is wrong in my opinion. Good luck with your phone. I hope the problem will be resolved.

Not really, cause it would be impossible to load games on it. Everything works from your iPhone or iPad, Apple TV is just a signal receiver in this case.

Not 100% agreeing with every point in the conclusion. If you don’t own one yet, there’s still an argument to go for the LCD if cost is important to you. A Valve refurbished 64GB is £249 vs £479 for the cheapest OLED. A new customer doesn’t have to absolutely go for the newest one.

I'm enjoying the Steam Deck but skipping the OLED, Why? Microsoft might release a handheld shortly, in addition other competitors will release their new devices. I'm certain the Steam Deck OLED isn't Valve's last handheld. The next two years should be interesting.

Great review. Just bought them, was using Bowers and Wilkins px8 which are lovely, but had to keep reconnecting to devices unlike my new Max which connects flawlessly to my Apple devices and which is the main reason I bought them. £50 off the original price so very happy. I am blown away with how they look, feel and sound. They are iconic. Thank you again for this.

I'm so tempted to get the oled to replace my current deck, but I'm gonna hold out. I hope the deck 2 is the same price or less. Also want money just in case a Steam Machine drops out of nowhere. Not likely, but you never know.

I am glad the OLED model exists and it's definitely the right choice for new buyers. I just don't see it being worth the hassle of selling my LCD model and paying more for a relatively marginal upgrade. Especially if you play with the Dock a lot it doesn't make that much of a difference. Sooner or later they'll come out with a proper successor to the original Deck with even better specs and I'll feel compelled to do the same thing then. I'm like that with my GPU too. Sure, I can upgrade my 3070 for a 4080 but why spend the money if what you have is already more than serviceable for the time being and something even better is around the corner? Not knocking anyone's choice but I'd rather just invest in a new device I don't own like the Analogue Pocket or a Mister.

You should know that the OLED screen flickers and no Dimming compensation till now, so most people have sore eyes after half an hour of play, unlike the LCD version.

I have the LCD only because when I was in Japan the OLED was completely sold out. Steam Decks aren't available in Australia. I'd say definitely worth upgrading if it's possible for you to. The Battery life improvement ALONE on the OLED is worth it.

Not worth if you want upgrade, go for rog ally extreme, that one can still play new AAA games like Dragons Dogma 2 and SD oled can't. Plus still now SD is available in few countries Unlike Rog ally and Lenovo

That’s a great question, as far as I’m concerned, modern OLED screens have all kinds of protective mechanisms for it, Steam Deck itself will by default put the display to sleep after some time. In the 99% of use cases it means there’s nothing to worry about

The Wullfden KZfaq video showed you can burn in if you're blasting bright games at 1000nits constantly for many many hours. Just don't run at the Max brightness possible for 20 hours straight and you'll be okay.

You are absolutely correct. However, if you need to have a warranty claim to Valve, you'd have to replace the SSD to the original one before sending it back to them. Also, if you break your Steam Deck while replacing the SSD - warranty also doesn’t cover it.

Spoken as someone who’s clearly never used/owned premium headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM4 or WH-1000XM5. The Sennheiser Momentum 4’s, Sennheiser HD 650’s, Focal Bathy’s, B&O’s or Bowers and Wilkins just to name a few. I am an iPhone user for now and even though I would love to try them out I WILL NEVER PAY $550 or even $450 for them as THEY’RE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WORTH THAT MUCH. In fact I would only consider them if they came down to where they BELONG WHICH IS AROUND $300 or LESS!! I will stick with my Sony WH-1000XM4’s that I bought on sale for $250 here in the US.

In my opinion - it might be, at this time, better to just wait for a newer version to come out. Also I am not sure that they are the best but they certainly work well with the rest of the iDevice ecosystem. In my opinion - these are mostly skippable until a refresh occurs.

I disagree. I currently want a good headphone set and tried out different premium headphones (e. g. the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless) - the APM won in almost every aspect. The look and feel very premium, they sound amazing (!) and they integrate very well in the Apple ecosystem. There's not timetable for the 2. gen and it could be 2025 as well. Additionally I think they will do just minor tweaks (USB-C, new colors) - but only time will tell. Until then I enjoy my new AirPods Max 🥰🤘🏻

Quest 2 is now $250 - Quest 3 is $500.. Decide if the added cost is worth it to you.. I’d say The Quest 2 is ‘go to’ for newcomers to VR, then you can wait a couple of years for the next big jump in capability..
