It can be used with a zone. If I find the video, I will send you the link. My zone is a different type of zone and I haven't tried it with my zone yet. If I do, I will get some footage up.

I used to be a shell drill coach. Stopped because I realized it was training bad habits (offense holding the ball, reliance on non-threatening passes, etc). Rather just teach from small-sided games and scrimmages.
@thepoliteway6 ай бұрын
Yep, I know coaches that have similar feelings about shell.
@Just1morehour3 ай бұрын
A possible way to rid some of them bad habits is to force movement before passing. Such as dribble drive attack and kick out….this makes both the defense and the offense to read react AND create. Implement rules to expand the critical thinking of the game as well…create a reason to make the passes more aggressive.

I love this drill and use it all the time. See how many we can make in 2 minutes.
@thepoliteway7 ай бұрын
That's awesome! Yes, you can get a lot done in those two minutes with plenty of opportunities for you to challenge your team. Thanks for sharing!

I’m late but I actually got my guys to buy into the system one game and then we took steps back in the next game 🤦🏾♂️😂 trying to stay positive though and keep pushing them forward
@thepoliteway7 ай бұрын
Yeah, that honestly what progress looks like. You take steps forward and may a step backwards...adjust and go at it again. Keep staying positive while holding them accountable.

We had a tough loss on Saturday but when talking to my leaders after the game, they can all feel that we are getting better. That matters a lot.

Do you ever shoot the heavy ball?
@thepoliteway Жыл бұрын
Not really. I've done finishes around the rim...there was a time where I've had players do the Mikan drill with a heavy ball...especially for their weak hand.
