Less than three years later (June 1987) Patrik Sjoeberg set a new world record. Patrik did so, by jumping 2,42 meters (7' 11 + 1/4") (A little over 7,11 ft). 😲😉

he admitted to working out that you saved a bunch of time by running a certain distance from the line without fouling and a certain number of strides between hurdles and that kind of thing. He had it all worked out mathamatically

Coe was an absolute BEAST. A true legend of middle distance running. His gold medal tally in no way does him justice. If it wasn’t for illness at very inopportune moments he’d have won at least one World gold (either 800m or 1500). He set so many records too as did Ovett.

Coe, a rare mentality for British sportsmen, a few tennis players could learn from him in 2024. Golden age for British endurance runners, and let's not forget Mick McCloud winning silver in the 10,000, Tim Hutchings 4th, and Charlie Spedding bronze in the marathon. Unimaginable these days now we are clueless against the African talent.
