With regards to the roads, yeah they are quite narrow. Most roads are 1 lane apart from motorways/highways. In cities, they often have a bus lane as well so buses don't get slowed down by heavy traffic. We also have 1 way systems in a lot of cities too to reduce congestion as well. Where I used to live, I used to have to get a bus to university. One road the bus had to go down was narrow that it couldn't fit a bus and a car on it, so the cars had to wait until the bus had passed before they could drive along. I can only say what ive experienced, but generally, yeah the roads are a lot narrower than in the US and we have a lot of 1 lane roads too. We also have lots of country lanes that twist and turn and have no streetlights and if a car is coming the other way, you have to mount the kerb to let them pass.
