I have been attending local BTC/AltCoin meetings and presentors have no idea what ICP is, they hold BTC and ETH only, they know everything about BTC but don't know what ckBTC is. Buying BTC for $1 was also too good to be true, but it was true. Too bad I didn't take advantage of it. I think the "It's too good to be true" is a way of trying to spot scammers. But I googled for how ICP works and played around with ICP apps for a couple days before I bought it, so I know in principle that ICP works. I don't believe it's an elaborate plot by the developers to just take my money. I did buy a couple thousand $ of ICP and I am just going to sit on it. I'll let you other guys do the work lol. I own other stuff too, so I'm not married to ICP.
