Im just about to get started building this and wanted to ask how yours is holding up, and if there is anything you would change now that you’ve used it for a while. I’ve been looking forward to this for over a year now and can’t wait. Thanks again.
@ProjectBilld5 күн бұрын
Mine is holding up well. Top has some scratches and marks, but it's a workbench. Some things I'd improve, more support under the middle, it can sag their when trying to move it. If I had to do it again, I'd probably build a separate cart for each rotating tool and have a way to join them together when needed as mine is huge and a beast to move by myself
@samh14033 күн бұрын
Thanks! I have a big garage where it can stay most the time, so I’ll start with your exact design with the middle supported a little more and then add any separate carts if needed. I would really like a large table for assembly and gluing anyways.

This is very helpful. I am wondering what the limits are around what lava rocks to use. Could you use fire glass stones instead? Or is there a reason you have to stick with the rocks? Thanks

I just like the look of the lava rock, use what you like as long as it's fire rated!

Nice detailed video. Could the HDMI be used for a front and/or rear mounted camera or are there any other ports available for cameras?
@ProjectBilld23 күн бұрын
The head unit in this video has a rca video port for the back up camera. You could use the hdmi for a front camera, assuming the front camera has that kind of output. There are other head units that support 2 cameras via rca, you might be better off getting one of those

I assume the driver gets less that 120 VAC from the wall switch when the dimmer is deployed. Does this affect the voltage required to run the LEDs?
@ProjectBilld24 күн бұрын
I'm not sure, I never measured it while dimmed. I haven't noticed any issues with dimming them, though I do mostly keep them at full brightness since they're indirect lighting

Pretty well! We eat at the island every day and it has rubbed through the epoxy on the edges where our arms rest. It's not very noticeable at all but it's something to keep in mind. Still, very happy with them.

My wifes 2024 cars back seat had to be re covered under warranty due to some stitching coming undone. The dealer said the seat fasteners had to be ordered since they are considered a one-time use. They probably fasten ultra tight for safety reasons.

Thank you first and foremost for showing the cabinet measurements and explaining the different segements size. I've watched a LOT of cabinet builds and you are the only one I remember doing this. It's the first thing you wonder when watching these. BTW, awesome color. I have some Valspar cabinet paint abou this same shade. I prefer to do the whole toekick base separate, but there are plenty of videos on how to build them that way.

Nice helpful video, does the wrangler have a stock subwoofer ? Did using the adapter cable to plug up the ddin head unit keep it functioning
@ProjectBilldАй бұрын
The Rubicons have a stock sub woofer in the center console, though it isn't great. It uses the rear speaker inputs for the signal so yes the adapter cable is all you need. Be sure to hook up the remote control wire (blue/blue with white stripe) or the sub amp won't turn on

This video is old, so you may have found a different solution or found your way to open from the outside just fine, but we're going to try a pull knob: National Hardware N109-070 Gate Latch Cable Pull, 40", Black This video also taught my husband about tools he didn't know about, so I feel like our upcoming Lowes trip is about to be more expensive 😂

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't mention the dimensions of the closet but you could probably infer them from the plans. The closest is roughly 24" deep x 78" wide x 96" tall which seems pretty standard for a bedroom closest.
