Hi there! I did try using condom catheters early on in my injury, but they didn't work for me back at the time. I had thought of trying them again a few years ago. I'm now married, and my wife changes my suprapubic at home and then gets me in the shower, and it has pretty much stopped leaks on the day of my change. I also make sure to use bags with the anti reflux chamber as they seem to not put pressure on my bladder as well. I do keep male urinary guards on hand for just in case. I really appreciate you taking the time to suggest this. An open discussion with advice helps everyone. Hope all is going well for you. :)

That's interesting, please do share more about your experience. So far, my body isn't agreeing with the silicone catheter, and I might have my wife take it out and replace it with a stock latex one, again.

I got a Gold in bowling and Silver in Shot put, Silver in discus and Silver in javelin. It was quite an experience. New Orleans is not easy in a wheelchair lol. Between the streets being a mess, sidewalks all completely slanted and the humidity making my push rims slippery it was a difficult week there. Thankfully all the events were indoors at the convention center so I mostly only dealt with that getting from my hotel to the convention center.

My new urologist told me that some fluid loss can even be from dehydration. Lía would add 2ml to my balloon halwafaway through my change when I did the 3week changes. Now that I'm doing 2 weeks of changes, we add 1ml on the week in between.

Hi, It was always important to me to be independent. I have had caregivers for bowel care days but not the other half of the week or at night. Now I'm married and my wife does help me with a lot more of the daily living tasks, especially on difficult days. Thanks for watching.
