I will speak frankly. Having heard for decades what a buffoon and terrible listener he is supposed to be, I never questioned it. This clip helped to change my mind. DJT was absolutely convinced that EMALS were terrible, and needed to be replaced by steam. In less than a minute, he listened to the CO, let himself be talked down, and deferred to the Captain. Try not to be fooled by the propaganda, or media persona that he projects. DJT just might be A LOT more of a sound thinker than some would have us believe.

Im sure he found a crazy WWI and WWII Soldier who lived to be 104 and a mid-ranking NCO, and an even crazier Scottish-born Korean War Airman who would be at the beginning of senior NCO grades who lived to be 83 and a controlled fury Canadian-born Korean War and Vietnam Airman who also would be at the beginning of senior NCO grade who lived to 86 helping him out on Heaven's streets. Namely, my great-grandfather, both paternal and maternal grandfathers. My father will join them when his time comes, also a crazy, Scottish-born Airman.

Many people will take issue with the use of the word "former" because that's not how it works in the Corps. There are no former marines, just Marines.

I hope the USA and China never actually have to go to war against each other. I prefer that everybody can live peaceful and rewarding lives and support their own country and never have to see a bomb, missile, or bullet fired in anger. If that ever happens, blame the leaders, blame the politicians, and not those people who do their jobs and defend their own homelands. I'd rather visit China as a tourist, not as a member of a conquering army.

China may have more ships than the US, but at least the US can come up with more gender types than China, which is still an advantage, right?

So do they have to change out blades every few flights or something? I know nothing about planes but it always seems like the plane at all times it's trying to pull apart. As well as why don't c130's have jet engines instead of props? Hate seeing any plane accident but especially military ones. God bless our guys and girls in uniform🇺🇸🫡🇺🇸

A past ancestor of mine was CIC of Pacific Fleet / Squadron just after the end of the Russo-Japanese War. Reportedly, he ordered the Cruisers deployed in the Far East and SEA area to redeploy to Hawaii, so as not to appear threatening to either Imperial Japan or Ru Empire at the time. He even reportedly sailed part way up the Yangtze river in yes, a gunboat or patrol boat of some type, in the attempt to make more diplomatic contacts with various relevant Chinese Military officials at the time. (the details of the results of which are unknown and cloudy). Yes, that's typically how numerous countries conducted gov to gov contacts and attempted diplomatic communication back in the 1800s and early 20th century. Based on such historical context as this reference however, I'd just ponder if perhaps some greater concerted, strategically postured US national strategy today would be prudent to seek bilateral and multilateral dialogue between major powers with purpose to potentially formulate and employ a more proactive reset of mutual position points and the more common provocative rhetoric, etc., for sake of improved transparency and joint-reductions in tensions ? Or would that just truly be folly today, naive and just not reality?? ✌ 🌐 🏊 🔛
