This movie made it for me to sleep when I accidentally saw it years ago I felt bad for Christine in this phantom of the opera adaptation movie my favorite phantom of the opera movie the 2004 one because I think it’s better for Christine to stay above ground not a guys hidden lair

I'm Actually here because your Alien 3 video from 6 years ago just came up for me. I really love Alien 3 liked your video but wanted to comment on fresher video. Although not a massive fan of Westerns I did like this movie.

Thanks for making this video. Lodge 49 was a wonderful beacon of hope in a time of extreme darkness. I always knew this show was too deep for too many. It forced you to ponder about the nature of life and death and our small place in the universe.
@17thchamberАй бұрын
This show is such a wonderful, weird, hilarious and powerful piece of art. I’m still mourning its loss with every yearly rewatch but goddamn the ending is one of the best “cancelled too soon” endings of all time, still so many unanswered questions about the Parabola Group and the True Lodge but Dud falling into the mud and dropping out the mystery door is so poignant and beautiful and funny

Fun Fact: The Goldberg role was originally meant for Stone Cold Steve Austin. The studio reached out to WWE about Austin being in the movie and the WWE, without mentioning it to Steve, turned down the role. Steve was reportedly upset that the company did that without asking him. The studio then gave the role to Goldberg.
@ScoutTafoyaАй бұрын
Steve might have been even funnier.

This is one of the worst, most awful, and most disturbing versions of The Phantom of the Opera EVER. It’s so painful and hard to watch, in my honest opinion. This is one of many versions of PotO that I HATE. The only thing I love about it is that Christine wants to stay with Erik (Phantom). That’s it.
@anton1990Ай бұрын
Oh god, you’re one of those phans who want’s Christine to choose the Phantom over Raoul? Sure, let the teenager stay with the middle aged serial killer… Not even Leroux would ever imply that Christine ever had any romantic feelings for the Phantom. Pity, but that’s it.

Another extremely interesting and very informative video essay. I am glad that someone else still loves Richard Lester's Juggernaut. I love A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum - so...silly! [And of course The Knack] I cannot believe I have not watched Contagion by Soderbergh, yet. [I really would urge you to provide more in the way of some kind of description in the Description panel above so that potential viewers would have more of an idea what the video was going to be about; I worry taht you are losing 'traffic' because of this - especially because these essays are so interesting.] I like your voice by the way - an essential ingredient to maintaining an audience base!
@AestheticOfTheImage8 ай бұрын
Interesting - I watched it twice. I still don't really understand why you included quite a lot of music and visuals from Siouxsie and the Banshees - when surely any link with Antonioni's Mystery of Oberwald is very tenuous - I think you suggest that some of Antonioni's visuals in MoO echo some pop videos of the day? (I would have understood Pink Floyd!) Anyway - many thanks! ps - I don't think Zabriskie Point is as 'Unloved' as you suggest - and you dismiss Pauline Kael at your peril - intelligent cinema criticism would be unthinkable with her. May I ask why you have a Roger Ebert watermark? I look forward to watching your other video essays...
still waiting for a blu-ray release of "the mystery of oberwald" as well as "zabriskie point" as i've seen the latter as i really enjoyed that film. i like a lot of antonioni's films.

Beautiful work, worthy of Makavejev's beautiful film, but take care not to be seduced by illusions that will betray you comrade; the fascists are already crushed, their pitiable bones rest in the Earth long and deep, and the Revolution is already at hand everywhere and at every moment.
