I have been to Berchtesgaden. It is a beautiful German town, but we did not have the opportunity to visit the Eagles Nest. The roads were closed up the mountains when I was there.

A lot of commenters are really making the incident out to be more than it was. It was an accident. It was a low-speed collision with a drunk driver while wearing no seatbelt + severe head/spinal trauma. He didn't die instantly but was paralyzed from the neck down and due to the medical knowledge of the era, they were unable to save him. Even today, he probably would have been paralyzed for life.

A lot of jerks responding to this, but I had family in Germany during WWII and they did not wander the streets to shoot Jews and Commies, but just struggled to survive in Berlin. I remember my Mom taking Care packages to the post office to help them after the war. You make fun all you want, but consider I still have an air warden sign from WWII hanging in my garage. Get a life!!!

All the participates military and King are now deceased…dead men tell no tales..thank you for finding this secret held in Windsor Castle archive records since May 1945. Family in this situation was thicker than water. My shock and horror of his Father George V for not letting his Russian TSAR Nicholas Cousin and his family had always been so close not giving them refuge in England? They were all murdered even the Tsars brother. King George V who changed the family name to Windsor to avoid criticism as German was a hard ass towards his children and his own cousin. The king V was a paradox…a bit warped in his family allegiance. King Charles III must have more Scot DNA than German (I am joking). He is a kind man.. a fair man ..not a ruthless hypocrite in my opinion. Great grandfather thankfully did not get to influence him. Winston Churchill made sure king Edward VIII was pushed out and he eventually abdicated. He certainly with his wife were in the face of his own English Monarch brother insulting as German Nazi sympathizers. They were both dangerous sent to the Bahamas for him to become governor which kept him away from the West during WWII. They did not need his embarrassment or interference. Maybe the stress of WWII ruined the health of King George VI…he was a very heavy smoker..his health had to have taken a beating. He was only 56 years old when he died. He sure raised an honorable daughter to become Queen.

All my mothers uncles who fought in WWII in both Europe and the Pacific have all passed away. I never even knew they saw combat till my mom told me about them when I was in my 20s. She said one walked the floors at night smoking cigarettes after he had bad dreams and the other two would get drunk when the memories became too powerful.

Update: The Berlin government is giving the building away for free! They never found anybody who would pay for it and it costs the state a huge amount of money to maintain Bogensee. Maybe a museum for Dr. Felton?

If you pretend to be impartial you must take into account the whole picture. Let it be that Katyn massacre was NKVD's. But after the Soviet Polish war of 1920 (which, by the way, was started by Poland) the number of Red Army prisoners who died in captivity was roughly 20 thousand men. Yes, the Poles say "it happened so by its own" but the result was the same. So you have to understand that there weren't absolutely any warm feelings between Soviet and Polish elites. If you act this way don't complain that you get the same response. During all 20s and 30s Poland was one of the most consistent enemies of Soviet Russia. Paid and instigated (as if the Poles needed any instigation) by France. It is somewhat surprising: here in Russia the majority believe that the main enemy of Russia is Britain (and was Britain). Although the main anti-Bolshevik role then belonged to France! In fact, there were incessant border raids into Soviet Russia during all 1920s and early 30s. Of course, these raids were by so-called white emigrees, but they were paid, trained and armed by Polish army and Polish secret police. Open cross-border skirmishes ended only in late 30s early 40s, when Soviet Union became too strong. But everybody remembered them. All this doesn't mean that Katyn shootings were "good", but once again: you have to see the whole picture. Maybe, if there weren't tens of thousands Red Army prisoners who died in Polish captivity and more than a decade of cross-border attacks, the fate of Polish officers would be different. But no way, not with Poland. Actually, our historical line of events is somewhat accidental. The then Polish elite would very enthusiastically take part in Unternehmen Barbarossa, should the Nazis offer them that. Absolutely no doubts. This alternative didn't happen only because Hitler's utter hatred to Poles and Polish (Poles will forever be our slaves!) and age-old german belief that they are etwas kolossal and they conquer the Slavs by themselves.

The fact that Hans Frank had already been sentenced to death does not mean he had no reason to lie. He might well have blamed Hitler for his predicament, and decided to get revenge on Hitler and his legacy by saying the one thing about Hitler that Hitler himself would have found most upsetting.

One man’s heroes are another man’s villains. Bless the fallen Germans that gave so much. They were so strong and fought so hard that it took the rest of the world to stop them. I would not have killed baby Hitler, I would have warned him and his family.

Felton forgets that Britain and France declared war on Germany, but curiously not the SU, after Hitler and Stalin decided to divide Poland between them, he also forgets the myriad war crimes committed by Britain against German civilians in both World Wars, such as the blockade and deliberate starvation of German civilians in WW1, the allies blatant disregard of the Versailles Treaty terms after Germany was disarmed, and the mass bombing of German civilians during WW2. Were the Brits that built the napalm bombs held accountable after the war? How many British war criminals were brought to justice? None? Victors are never war criminals, lol. O yes, and he is strictly non political, what a blatant liar.
