Wow, this was great, I love the many tips that you used and shared. But most of all your teaching was concise and clear. I will be making theses for Christmas gifts. Many thanks.

Welcome and I look forward to learning so much from your KZfaq channel! I'd like to learn some tips and tricks using your new Floofy solids fabrics. Do you have a tutorial for that?
@kj3d812Ай бұрын
7:05 what you're doing is IRONING, not "pressing." I only learned the difference recently: *Ironing* is moving the iron around, which pushes the fabric as you demonstrate. *Pressing* is literally pressing the iron in one spot, lifting it and moving it to another spot and pressing again. There are videos that demonstrate the difference (which is where I learned).

Wow! Such a great video…especially with the extra attention to pressing the seams! A must watch for anyone learning this block. Thank you!

Use a tracing wheel to perforate your paper. It folds easily and tears away easily also.❤

Although I'm not a beginner, I can appreciate how carefully this video was composed to add tips and explanations that will build skills for a new learner (or reminders for more advanced quilters). This must have taken a long time to develop to make the best possible tutorial, so the viewer has the benefit of taking a full quilting class in one short video that can be re-watched at any time. Good job! (btw everybody- TMy current update of youtube now adds the "@user" address to commenters' profiles and creates the address that the commenters didn't know they had)

Hello, what is the name of the little yellow rule to cut always the same amoutn of fabric?
@auntie.shannon6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. The printed instructions were not helpful at all. The only thing is, when I put the ruler on the 4 inch mark as you indicated, I ended up with a 4 x 3.5 inch rectangle. I tried moving it up to the 3.5 inch mark and that seemed to work better. I'm well aware I may not know what I'm doing, but having your instructions got me closer to what I wanted, so I am very grateful.

I see this is really for beginners! I would never waste my time pressing plus I'd be use a bowl, glass, cup etc toe draw my circles. I'm an expert. Thanks Mom, she could make you a garment for you without a pattern. Mom was gifted. I started cutting out patterns for her when I was 5 yrs old.

Great tutorials. I’ve been buying from Connecting Threads awhile and love the fabrics, patterns and kits. I really appreciate your careful and friendly teaching style. Thank you. I sewed hotpads this year as Christmas gifts, but will switch to oven mitts in 2024. It’s a great use of scraps! You mentioned in the previous tutorial that you remove pins. In this tutorial, you are sewing over them. Is that because you’re also sewing over the insul-brite?

Thank you so much for sharing this - your bubbly personality and clear instructions make for a great video. I have to get some supplies ordered. I am just getting into quilts, and think this is a perfect project to play with the outside design without committing to a whole quilt. Great job!

You should use the No waste flying geese method.
@ConnectingThreadsOfficial10 ай бұрын
This is how the pattern designer wrote the pattern, so we wanted to be faithful to her specific design. That said, the no-waste flying geese method is fantastic and definitely doable for this pattern if you'd like to use it! (Also great video idea, @sewingsue!!)

Great tutorial - thanks for providing the template. I just finished my finished my first one and love it. I made the large one and found it a bit big for my hand, so now I will try the smaller one. Once great thing about the template is you can adjust to the size you want. This pattern was so easy and your video was perfect - hope to see more gift ideas in the future. Perhaps a wine bottle bag 😉

I really liked your video and clear instructions. I proceeded with my project to piece a small but complex section of a quilt I’m working on. I was so proud of my work. BUT… when I took the paper off, everything was BACKWARDS. I took a look at another video and it mentioned at the start to be sure to reverse the printed pattern so it would finish correctly. I WISH YOU HAD MADE THAT CLEAR in your video! The design in your video is not directional and so you didn’t need to reverse it. But others’ would be, like my own. Now I’m starting over again. 😩

This is an excellent tutorial.. great camera and clear instructions. Have watched many on this subject. Just bought wonder tape for first time. Many tutorials say iron zipper first to make sure you are sewing the closest possible to zipper teeth. You did not feel the need to add this extra step. Very good !! I Hope you do more tutorials.
