Sir, you have good material. It’s very polite. Matt is a different type of comedian, and the facet that you focused on is very clearly a tactic to to get buy-in from the audience as he prepares to take us down the rabbit hole; it’s like priming an engine before starting her up. Like most creative professions, there is a vanishingly small space at the top, and a staggering number of highly talented folks, yourself included, might not reach it. Even most “successful” authors and musicians still have to work a day job. I hope you keep climbing, and I hope you celebrate your colleagues’ accomplishments. You’re better than this video, you really are! Don’t get defensive to the comments here either, it only digs the hole deeper, but it ain’t deep yet. Like your agism reply to someone’s comment calling you “grandpa”, when in your video you say “listen kid” when addressing Matt; it’s a bit hypocritical. Anyway, I wish you the best.

Title should be “When “Grandpa's” go full Karen”. Why do people complain so much after they reach a certain age? Don't you guys have better things to do with the remaining days, weeks, months, or years of your life? Every comedian has at least 1 joke that isn't funny at all. There is not a single comedian out there that didn't have a complete silence from the crowd after a “joke” at least once in their career. It's part of being a comedian and taking the risks of performing certain jokes. You can't please everyone. You're saying you're a comedian or were. Then you should know this. Just by making a video like this raises a lot of questions about you instead of the guy you are complaining about.

Ageism is the only allowable ism left. You're right. I should just stay in my home that you will never be able to own. Have dinner with my kids, that you'll never be able to afford. And enjoy retirement that you can only dream of.
@Sir_Olf5 ай бұрын
@@fosterfunny Wow hahaha you are just toxic hahaha. Sorry but I own a house (2 to be fair but renting it out) and no mortgage and three kids a wife and two cars and can afford 2 holidays with them all each year wherever they wish to go. I also think about early retirement, so I have more time with my kids. So come again... If you are man enough to criticize people online and make a video about them, then also be man enough to take, and accept, the criticism that you get yourself. But clearly you can't. You are way too toxic and too grumpy to be actually happy. So I really doubt that your life is what present it to be. I bet during the dinner with your kids you also complain either verbally or in your head. Plus, since I never ever heard of you, I have many doubts that your retirement from being an unknown comedian is so perfect as you claim it to be. But I do hope that you are ok and that you somehow find a way to be happy and less toxic and grumpy. Be nice to others and they will be nice to you. Have a nice day!

You make a completely fair point. Giving him the benefit of the dount he might not have heard your joke direcrlh; but in a lot of comedy circles that doesnt count. its still your work. Jimmy Carr, to me at least has hot the line perectly. Especially in his Netflix special "His dark material" partly because he sets his stall out early "Terrible thing, joke about a terrible thing" He makes it quite clear its not his genuine opinion, its a joke. like, he mentioned the number of gypsies murdered by the Nazis. He then adds a jooe line, but until all the scandalised reactions it led to, no one had talked about how many non-jewish people the Nazi's murdered. Gypsies were next on their horrific list. Then it was homosexuals, Christians and anyone who opposed them. Just saying "I think we may be going too far" as a high ranking officer could, and often did, got you killed. But, its ironic that a jooe got people talking about the number of people killed that we dont hear about. sometimes, really dark comedy can make you realise something. I'm not talking about Gervais or Chappelle, I'm talking about people who arent targetting anyone. They're just telling a joke. One guy did a scale of racism. where a kid saying something offensive was a one, the lowest point you could get. Theyre repeating something without knowing what it means, a comedian trying to riff in the moment, out of the blue got a five - because the topic was thrown at them without warning. Ten was the people who actually belive it and act on it. so he went with intention. Which is a fair comment to me. Rife is kinda making a name for himself, but he shouldnt want to be making the name for taking other peoples material, no matter how big or small their audience. Its like taking thenclever kids exam paper and handing it in as your own. Its not yours but your claiming it is. That shouldnt happen and comedians, in particular, shouldnt do it. Its just sloppy and lazy writing. so your point is valid, eloquent and well made sir.
@fosterfunny5 ай бұрын
Thank you, but my joke has nothing to do with his, except that IMO it is a much better and original joke on the same dark subject. I'm certainly not accusing him of joke theft. My point was that his premise is not even close to original and based on a tired old "Women belong in the kitchen etc. cliche. Again, NO accusation of theft, or even influence.

If a joke is funny, it's well constructed and executed as that's what a joke is designed to do.
@fosterfunny5 ай бұрын
As well constructed as a joke might be, whether it is "funny" or not, is still subjective.
@aaronbarlow43765 ай бұрын
@@fosterfunny Exactly so criticising a joke for not being funny is wrong, especially if the majority finds it funny. One can do so if one approaches it from the angle of subjectivity and says that the criticism is just one's opinion. Matt Rife made a lot of people laugh with that kitchen joke. The people that were offended are the usual humourless woke retards which makes it far more likely that the joke was objectively funny.

@fosterfunny Even right after the joke he played with the crowd to see if they're there for jokes. It was a poor joke, but the point was still to test the waters as they say. I wouldn't be surprised if he already had the apology setup before the special aired. A lot of comics are messing with cancel culture right now, and as Matt has already been doing so for some time, not a stretch to see that joke was in the same ballpark. But grats to your opinion, that what us nobody's do.
