Sync matches bpm and beat grid and tries to keep the beat grids in sync ..the temp slider just brungs the 2 songs to the same tempo so this is somewhat misleading

Sync use to have some issue wenn the bpm is not well analysed . My trick , drop the song into Virtual DJ , copy the bpm from Virtual and paste in Serato et voilà

can I do it with a desktop I am doing this just for fun as an outlet because I am bipolar and messing with music in any way makes my mind relax so I can go to sleep I been sleep deprived for close to three days I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have to go inpatient but I am trying to avoid that like the plague I don't feel like loosing three weeks worth of pay for this.

Controller not really an issue. Laptop is liable to crash when its cheaper. Cheaper controllers sometimes have connectivity issues as well.

How do you get your smart crates to show up on serato after coping files to hard drive? I can see the smart crates logs but they won’t show up on my serato

Plug HD in, open serato look for the button "Relocate Lost files". Make sure Serato is looking in the correct HD where the new music is stored.

Lol... i can relaate, i move to vdj tho. Vdj has cleanest stems a way better structure for library management... from dealing with duplicates, sorting by color, hashtag filtering etc. The 'My Library' extension does all this that's demonstrated in the vid and more.

Good explanation of the grid. But, if you disable the grid in settings, because you are playing ripped analogue vinyl, just tap the tempo for an approximate bpm, and mix, old school...
