Interesting to see what Emirates first class was like a decade ago compared to what you get today. A lot has changed over the years.

Great mix of historical and contemporary engineering. “If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break When the levee breaks, I'll have no place to stay Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan, Lord Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan It's got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home Oh well, oh well, oh well Don't it make you feel bad When you're tryin' to find your way home You don't know which way to go? If you're goin' down south They got no work to do…

The world seems to be complicating the issue of the word "communist", we are Vietnam, not North Korea, we are not politically old-fashioned like them. In my country, people only care about the freedom to enjoy, freely buy, sell, do business, and work hard to improve themselves, bring happiness to their families, and fulfill their civic responsibilities. his patriotic duty. , that is all. We are not interested in communism, it is simply the name of a party, just like in America there are two parties called Democratic & Republican, and the Vietnamese Party is called Communist, it's that simple, Communism is nothing, I have lived this year for the past 40 years, I have never seen anything called communism in society. Terrorists in Vietnam often call the police communists and say communists oppress the people, no, the police are just police & the police never oppress the people, the police only oppress those who violate the law Vietnamese .

Thank you for your comment. You’re right. Communism in many countries is today is perhaps more of a political label than a philosophy, as I tried to show when I made this video several years ago.

I was born in this jewel of a place on 15th November 1948 & lived there until early 1950s on the road which 'lead to the famous Kerk'. I have so many fond memories from the regular times when water ran down the sluices outside the front of our homes, for watering the orchards (grape vines, peach & apricot trees) in the 'agter plaas' for that's what our backyards were. Water enough for a youngster to frolic in. Those coal stoves, where mom baked all our treats (bread, raisen bread, koeksusters & so many others) cooked our meals. Let alone the jams / konfyt, fruit preserves & chutneys, which stood on shelves in the pantry, the sun turning those bottles into 'stained glass windows'. The smell of 'moer koffee' filling the home early morning, luring us out of comfy beds & eiderdowns before breakfast was served. The memories remained so ingrained that I travelled back there as a grown up man in 1984 to breathe in that Montagu air & stir the fond memories. And I almost never left. Maybe I'll have my ashes spread over those beautiful mountains which drew various hues from blue, purple to green, sunkist gold as the morning progressed into dusk. There is no more beautiful place on God's earth ❤😢😊

Thank you so much for sharing your memories of this beautiful place. My visit there was all too short!

@@DonaldRallisThanks for your affirmation in response. You can see how the memories still flood my soul. I often wondered why my Dad moved us away from Montagu, but in later years I discovered that his stint in WW2 had not been all 'guts & glory' as shown in the movies & gave him itchy feet & some restlessness, which only calmed down in later years but never left him entirely.

Very nice immersive video. Went through there a few months ago just to refuel and have lunch while heading north. On a route 62 trip on bike 2 yrs ago we stayed only 1 night but I definitively need to spend a few nights there.

I lived in Pilgrims Rest with my newly married wife, from 1993-2015. What an incredible life we lived. Pilgrims Rest was alive. The town was busy with locals, tourists, government officials mainly from sports arts and culture. Yes Pilgrims Rest went through hard times, and still is. In addition to all kinds of issues,5he Zama Zamas have taken over. Pilgrims Rest will always survive the hard times and will capatalise on the good times. The towns fortunes have come and gone over the years, however you can't change what has happened their. Many active 2nd Boer war soldiers hid out there with the mainly English speaking and the locals, under the noses of the English army as close as Lydenburgh. The "Veld Ponte", were m8nted in Pilgrims Rest. Forget about all the negative stuff. Visit Pilgrims Rest and be amazed. It is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. The black and white people who live there, generally live in harmony.

nice airport but apparently there are not many flights and the airport looks a little bit empty... hope in the future they will have more flights esp flights conducted by wide-body aircrafts link siem reap with the whole world.

Very beautiful building, but I wonder why it can not accommodate the propelled planes from Bangkok Airways. As the video shows, the passengers must leave the plane onto the tarmac and then walk up the stairs to the brigde. It is as if the planers focused on the big aircrafts and not on the smaller ones comjing in every say from Bangkok. 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
