That thumbnail picture of Rik with his family is lovely, and reminds me of when I and a girlfriend of mine saw him. We were on holiday (in Portland, I think, but it was a long time ago), and decided to get a bus somewhere. Among the people waiting at the bus stop was a tall man in a long coat and cowboy hat, just standing their with his children. I thought he looked familiar, and after a while I realised it was Rik Mayall. As he was just minding his own business with his family I thought it was better not to approach, but after they got on we sat a few seat behind him. I can tell you he was the most attentive, gentle dad I've ever seen.
