i have a 700r4 in my 55 chevy, and its not shifting into overdrive around 45-60mph by it self unless i manually do it. would that be a bad adjust to the TV cable?

My freaking superior bypass doesn’t fit…tried for over an hour and it seems I need drill out or shave some of the part out…

use the STL010 its the only patented US11725891B2 to allow bypass...I get you do it for cost savings...BUT YOU WILL STILL SMOKE A UNIT, WHEN THE COOLER PLUGS PARTIALLY OR COMPLETLY. BECAUSE YOU BLOCKED THE SAFTEY BYPASS SYSTEM.

Why would you need to turn the transmission if you're just changing how the fluid flows? You're not changing the performance of the trans just how the fluid is cooled or warmed up.

So what if I'm using a 1 or two inch spacer, do they make a bracket that's longer further down so the cable is straight and not at an angle? How about that? Most people use spacers.

I know this video is old but it still holds true. Do you know how hard it is to find good mechanic that knows all about my 1989 gmc suburban with 700r4? I just got my transmission rebuilt and paid a lot of money for it and had to take it back twice. It still is slipping and clunking into gear. I should have just taught myself how to rebuild it as there are many great videos on KZfaq showing you how to do it.

this is a complete crock of shit. gm built millions of tbi engines that did not have a straight shot alignment of the tv cable bracket and the button on the tbi unit itself.

I know somebody makes a kit you can install in your transmission that maintains oil pressure irregardless of TV cable adjustment so the trans will not burn up. It's a Throttle Valve update kit. I am going to put one in my '87 Chevy Truck with TBI and a 700R4. I forgot who makes it though.

Man this guy saved a ton of people headaches! I'm glad I don't own a 700r4 before this video! It's definitely too critical for my taste. I love a 4 speed automatic but I'm sticking whither my th350 for awhile. Saving up for a 6 spd manual!

a transmission i thoroughly regret purchasing i have a 2015 ram with a 6.7 cummins and my road ripper 3000 will not hold up for more than 15k miles. my factory transmission burnt up the overdrive clutches at 100,000 miles im lucky to see 20k out of one of these. they have warrantied it every time (currently on the 5th warranty claim within 2 years) but will not pay the shop for thier work. i have tried to speak with certified transmissions directly but they give me the run around and tell me that the shop that installed it needs to call them. my truck is completely factory and never tows more than a skid steer or dump trailer and never near max capacity. i wish i never bought this transmission as a result of the problems ive had the shop that installed it wont sell their products any more either. my truck has never been on a race track or a sled pull or anything of the such, its a daily driver and work truck. every time my trans goes out i cant work and it puts my company in jeopardy, this last round its now been down for 3 weeks and as a result i lost my biggest contract and all together tens of thousands of dollars of income with all the down time. i really didnt want to leave negative comments like this but i hope this stops at least one person from going through what i have from buying this transmission......
