Love you two! Thank you for taking us on your journey...something I wish I could do....but age has its drawbacks...so I really appreciate the travels, even with its up and downs. Rode a bike 50 odd years ago, but it is not safe in this country US....The country is beautiful. Waiting for your next journey, and rest up in the mean time...

This is the kind of comment that motivates us to put more content out there. I am so happy you enjoyed this series. I think I know what you mean about age. You know what’s best for you. Myself, if yhe time came when I couldn’t ride 2 wheels anymore, I guess I would consider a trike, a quad, a bike with a sidecar or other options. Anything to feel the wind in my hair (wink). But then again, knowing when to stop is pretty damn valuable knowledge as well :)

I've always used anti-seize on all of my bikes axels for years, never had any problems. The service manual for a grom mentions grease, other manufacturers call for anti seize. Either way, dont put em back dry.
@kitty.mototor
@kitty.mototor Ай бұрын
I'll be honest, I've never looked at anti-sieze products (and if I did, I didn't know they were "anti sieze"). Looking at their general description, yeah, it sounds like they would work, even though it looks like they're designed for more tight or clamped assemblies. They seem to share a lot of their properties with grease so, yeah, maybe they're a good alternative. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you so much, that means a lot! Helmet cam is a Sony FDR X300 and others are taken with an iPhone 12 mini (usually in wide mode). Both shot in 4K. On the motorbike there are 2 cameras, front and rear, a Thinkware M1 set that shoots in 1080p. I am thinking of upgrading to a DJI Action 4 soon, though.

Hi, I think I will buy crf250 rally this week and I am little worried about ergonomics. How tall are you? I am 187cm and 110kg, so suspension update is must and bar risers as well. This little beast looks awesome so I hope that it will be fit for me.
@kitty.mototor
@kitty.mototor 2 ай бұрын
For a big boy like you, the stock suspension on my CRF will be pretty soft. It goes down a lot when I sit on it. A lot of people comment that it's too soft, I find it just fine, but I weighed between 72 and 80 kg while riding it. I would describe the feel as "elastic". If you plan to put any luggage on it, I also think you would benefit from a suspension upgrade (but cannot recommend anything in particular). As far as the bar risers go, hmm, yeah. I am 181 cm tall and the bike feels comfortable to me, but I do wish the position was slightly more upright when I'm standing on the pegs. I feel like I'm leaning too much on the bars. I've never ridden the rally version, I suspect the geometry is quite similar, but yeah, I think you would benefit from those upgrades. Other than that, I really like the bike and it seems to do everything I want: - decent on highways (but not recommended for many hours) - very capable off road (but not a lot of power available) - light (so great to pick up or carry minimal luggage with it) - flexible (I did TET segments but I also commute on it in a crowded city) Hope this helps with your decision! I've never regretted mine :)

Dude you doing the clutch ! Why are u at the break and radiator
@kitty.mototor
@kitty.mototor 3 ай бұрын
Good question! It's supposed to show people who are doing this for the first time the entire process. The brake pedal and the radiator fiddling are part of that process. I removed the break pedal because you can't easily take the engine cover off with it in the way. And the radiator is in the video because you have the water pump on the same engine cover and you need to remove all the coolant from the radiator as well. At least I know of no other way to get to the clutch discs. Hope this helps!

Replace original springs with CBR300 springs or aftermarket stiffer springs asap. The reason why CRF250L clutch wears out and burn so fast is not an offroad abuse but constant little slipping at full power in high gear at every ignition stroke. Even worse, the OEM spring steel material get even softer when exposed to heat, i.e. when you overheat the clutch once. It is know CRF250L problem. The clutch discs are supposed to last 4x longer with adequate springs.
@kitty.mototor
@kitty.mototor 10 ай бұрын
That sounds like reasonable advice. But I am bit weary of replacing original parts and then getting used to the new feeling of the clutch... The loss of clutch grip was sudden, so offroad abuse might be the reason in my case. The new plates have felt great for the last 6K km, I can't wait to look at them the next time :)

Hey Buddy, you crashed because you had too much front brake. The fact that you acted like you don't know why you wrecked means you need to get some proper training. You only need 2 fingers to properly use the front brake. You had all 4 and your brake was fully pulled. If I had to guess you probably were not using the back brakes at all. You should be practicing on using your brakes and should not be on public road. Go watch the Motojitsu Channel and the Champschool channel. Also had you checked your tire pressure recently prior to wrecking? I would bet you hadn't and your tires were dangerously low making it that much more likely of you wrecking.
@kitty.mototor
@kitty.mototor 10 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for the detailed analysis! You made me very curious, because if I had pulled hard on the front brake, that would have been a very interesting automatic panic response, and a plausible explanation! But I did review (even the original footage) very carefully and I can see as I enter the roundabout that I have just the index finger on the lever. Which makes sense, this is how I ride 90% of the time. I only seldom use two fingers. I can't see myself switching to more fingers in the video. So, I may have pulled on the front brake, which made me loose traction on the rear, but no, it wasn't a hard brake... Still, it could be a factor, yes. Tire pressure was no issue, 21psi the day before. Thanks again for taking such an interest and helping me look at this a bit differently! Cheers.
