Where did you get your torque specs and bushing kits from? Thanks! About to do the same on my '71.

I used a Haynes repair manual for 1973-1979 ford trucks. Most of the parts were purchased from national parts depot.

Thank you for the video. I have a 72 f250 with drums I believe I can get a 77 f350 with disks. Do you think I could swap them? I'm not that mechanical but my brother in law is. Is this a possible swap?
@randalldellwo6365
@randalldellwo6365 8 ай бұрын
Yes it’s definitely possible. I’ve heard of quite a few people swapping the disc brakes from the 73-79 trucks to these older 67-72. But unfortunately I’m not really sure what it takes to do it.

Nice projet. 2 remarks : 1. it would be wise to put plastic feet on the bottom so that the wood doesn't rest on the wet ground. 2. A few holes in the bottom would enable the rain to drain away.

Excellent idea about the feet. I did think about the holes. I just didn’t show it in the video. 👍

how many hours for a job like this
@randalldellwo6365
@randalldellwo6365 8 ай бұрын
It took me about 4 days, roughly 4 hours per day. But a lot of time was spent trying to remove the rubber bushing from the end of beams. And a bunch more time making sure I had the proper torque specs. If those things weren’t an issue I think it could be an easy two day job or roughly 8 hours.

I love when people post videos that are exactly what you were looking for. Especially when it's not their normal content so you know they went out of their way to post it to help the next person! Thank you Randall!

I am really glad that my video helped. I felt there was a bit of lacking information for the F250 version. Plus, not everyone wants to do a Crown Vic swap.

if you put a sheet of wax paper on the rails of your clamps the glue will not mess-up the rails and some species will stain if metal touches the glue and the wood. Wax paper is super cheap. You could also use painters tape.

Cost around $700 I think. That includes the king pins which I didn’t use cause mine were still in great shape.

I have the same concern the top of my tires are leaning outward a little not to much. F250 camper special 2wd. The top of the spindle where kingpin slides thru has a little play not sure if it's normal or not. Share if you find something.

Too allow any condensation or moisture to bypass the electric fan without damaging it. I added the insulation to keep it from freezing, but that was probably overkill.
