Ethan, As a lifelong John Wayne fan, we really appreciate this channel and all of the videos and updates. As a young man I was working at Knotts Berry Farm in my hometown of Buena Park in 1969 when you as a boy and your dad came there and filmed an advertisement for the new Log Ride. I was on my lunch break from the Farm Bakery and went to watch it being see it filmed. It was a great time. Thanks for those memories.

The Duke set the Standard for young men growing up when I was young. Got too meet him once in Louisville, KY when he was The Grand Marshal of the Pegasus Parade. Was just a little boy and he was massive! Larger than Life kind of falls short. Still think he deserved an Oscar for the Shootist. Great Movie and played like no one else possibly could. An Absolute American Patriot and Man's Man,... there is no greater image of an American Legend than John Wayne.

Perfect movie for me and my friends to see when we were ten or eleven . After the movie we all wanted to be cowboys! Being from Long Island, that wasn’t gonna happen! Still one of my favorite movies! Bruce Deron scared the crap out of me!

This was the last movie I saw with my grandfather who was a real cowboy. He could rope more calves and drag to a branding fire in his 70s than most men half his age. He was a big Duke fan as am I.

I just turned 44 a few days ago, and have been a fan of Duke, since a was a little bitty feller. I was practically raised by my grandparents, and I can remember that every Sunday afternoon, after church, Westerns came on and were on all afternoon. I think they came on PBS. Not positive, but I think so. Me and my Papaw would sit there and watch them together. He loved Duke. So I have always associated him with my Papaw. Papaw was a big 6'4 WW2 veteran and Golden Gloves boxer. So when I watch Duke, who was 6'4 too, I always see my Papaw. and it brings back all those great childhood memories. I lost him when I was 18, and some days I really start thinking about and missing him. So all I have to do, is pop in my favorite Duke films like "The Searchers", "McClintock" "The Cowboys", etc., and cant help but smile, thinking about when I get to see Papaw and Mamaw again. It's going to be a great reunion, and I wouldnt be suprised if Duke and Papaw, are there having a funny conversation. If they are, I'm just going to be there, with my mouth shut and ears open. After seeing Jesus, and reuniting with my family members, there are two people, that arent family, that I want to meet. Those two, are Elvis Presley, and of course a guy named Marion Morrison. I'm so proud of how Ethan, along with his brothers and sisters, have honored their father's legacy, and helped so many people with cancer. I know Duke is proud of them.

I am a 65 year old Canadian who has loved and enjoyed almost every one of your father's movies several times over. What made him such a great man was he appeared to be very much the same man off the screen as he was on. He stood by his guns and faced criticism for his patriotic stance and condemnation of liberalism and progressivism. All you have to do is look around today and both him and President Ron R. turned out right on in their predictions. His credo he stated in his final movie The Shootist was a roadmap for good men to follow....My entire life John Wayne was a good guy to me, and some one to look up to....Those who attacked him for his stance on many things today will realize he was right all along and simply wanted to protect the great nation he was born in....I have watched the bodies of young soldiers come home throughout my entire life from different conflict zones around the world. What many on the Left do not realize...America is an idea, the first of its kind where freedom was the central core, and it must be fought for and protected every generation. The young men and women who have answered the call to duty and especially those who paid the ultimate price, did not do it because of the politics or for any other reason then sense of duty, their country called and they answered....your father understood that. I remember when Maureen Ohara went before Congress supporting the medal for your father and I agreed with her....Your Father stood for the very best in America, and the idea of America. I witness people flooding into my own country mostly from third world nations and we have not been asked for our thoughts on any of this....for most they come to take and get their share with little understanding or appreciation for the lifeblood of the nation that was spilled to keep both of our countries free. I could go on for ever, I just want to give my thanks to your family....America will always remain free because of the spirt that is America, and one your father was one of the greatest ambassador's of...Thank you for sharing some inside glimpses into his personal life, I am sure you are all very proud and I expect the memory of your father will live on forever as will America! God Bless from Canada!!!!

As a Mom whos son just entered the Military a little over 6 months ago, I needed to see & hear this. This was filmed a year ago, is what it says, and I believe the world is definitely in a way worse condition today (6/1/24) then the year before. Thank you Ethan and thank you John Wayne, for both of you sharing your stories, there are lessons to be learned from both. My Son joined at the age of 33, I couldn't be prouder of him! I am a 61 year old woman of Faith ✝️ and I am asking for prayers for our Military and our Country...this world we live in is starting to catch fire. I will always believe, God is in control!!! ✝️🫡🇺🇲❤️ Thank you for such an honest interview, foro both of you!

I read one of the comments and he said he heard a rumor than Tommy Lee Jones was going to be in a remake of the cowboy’s. I like Tommy Lee jones but they shouldn’t remake that movies. Jeff bridges remade true grit, and I like him, but no John Wayne movie should ever never be remade.

I grew up watching your Dad acting in movies and my family can tell you that I have numerous lines recited by heart as the movies play. We had all daughters so our first grandchild was a boy so his nickname is "Budger" played by Clay O'Brian in Cahill, U.S. Marshall. Our daughter's family visited us for Christmas one year and fortunately his movie was playing so after Budger's bath we were in pajamas and the Duke saw his young son and said: "Hello Budger" and my grandson looked right up at me. My entire family saw it. Your Dad is what America is about. You were very fortunate to be a part of his life.
