I like how you play Luke, what is your opinion about him after patch?

Thank you. I don’t think Luke is as strong especially with Akuma being in the game, but at the same time he feels more complete with the DDT and shoulder buffs. I personally enjoy him more in this version and think he is still top tier. I think he has a very hard time dealing with zangief which is kinda annoying. What’s your impression?

@@Flappy_FGC I totally agree. I also enjoy him more. Much more Mixups are possible now. The damage hurts, but he was op. I will still main him. I stuck at 1600 MR, so I look at your style to see what I can do better. I think everybody has a hard time with Zangief at the moment. There are so much new Zangief Legends. They buffed him way to much.

i mean you're right but i still like my stick and i will never let it go, it is my son and i love him. i'd like to see what ideas dev's can come up with to prevent these sort of shenanigans to even out this sorta thing. I myself am no where near informed enough to put something forth lol

Great video just to note It's even easier on newer pads like the Xbox Elite controller and PS5 Edge controller (Map analog to back pedals). on the xbox controller you can SAVE your remap for tournaments I'm assuming the PS5 edge will let you do the same on release so your remap can go with you

So a question. What do you propose should be done from the developer side of things? How should we program our games to respond to these inputs going forward? I'm developing a fighting game myself and this would be good info to pass on to my coders.

All depends on how much you care about this stuff. You could research socd resolutions and go from there. If you want to avoid shortcuts that use SOCD cleaning or lack thereof, then that is up to how your game handles its SOCD logic, in congruence to how lenient you make your motion inputs. For example: The DP shortcut I showed for cammy here only works because the game doesn’t ask for a clean forward input to complete the motion. I can end in Down+Forward+Kick, or up+forward+kick and it’s good enough. If the game simply required a clean down+forward+kick, this wouldn’t be possible.

Cool shit, I knew PAD had SOCD inputs but it always seemed impractical before. But if you can just rebind the stick inputs, well...fill your boots, I guess.

Keep in mind you can't have more than 4 directional buttons at a time. If you remap your d-pad to a button you lose that direction on your d-pad. You are also unable to remap analog sticks to buttons they have to remain analog sticks. Sections B and D on customizing controllers in the CPT ruleset.

I gotta ask if you are you favor of things like this surely you are in favor of things like the Antagonist button which just mimics this sort of stuff on arcade stick? Also most games have software SOCD cleaning now. While this stuff works for SFV that's just because of how SFV does its SOCD cleaning. Up+Down is always Up and Left+Right is always Right. This is regardless of the order the buttons are pressed.

The letters are PS4 buttons. I’ll try to explain it better. In the video I have my right bumper mapped to the dpad up button. Since this lets me press Kick+Up at the same time, it makes this shortcut easier. With my left hand I do forward, then down+forward, hold it there while my right hand does up+kick

i dont think button mapping via the accessibility options of steam and ps4 is allowed in tourneys.Only "in game" button mapping settings where it is not usually possible to assign a direction to a button that is not the d pad or analogue stick.If there is a modern fighter out there that does this please let us know.As for the disability argument if someone can verify they have a disability then i believe "platform" button mapping should be allowed.

There’s no restriction where and why you put your buttons. Hardware or software, it’s the same shit. However if you’re doing it on a hardware level there are restrictions you need to be careful about.
