I love this. The notes have good duration; the rests are a little short. But that's typical for QuickBASIC; there isn't really a proper way to do a correct-length rest in the 'PLAY' command for music.

VERY nicely done for your first QuickBASIC program! What a neat idea, & beautiful way to present it. It feels so perfect to see this on a genuine old computer & CRT monitor. :3 Ahh, the nostalgia, in more ways than one...

I cannot wait to try this on my Zenith. I played it on DOSBox on my phone as a timer to brush my teeth, and I think I will run it when I type up my book from my handwritten copy.

This is truly incredible. And lore accurate, too! The old Aperture ran on IBM machines, so this is exactly what could have happened in the game

The code isn't that bad - it served its purpose and that's what counts. However, it would be an awful lot of work to add more sound parts in this style (in the way of alternating notes like arpeggio). For that, it would be better to create some kind of playback engine and the sound part as data.

As a note, you can get multiple tones out of a PC speaker through several mixing methods. These include interpolation of the sounds (where you spend the minimum cycle on each tone in rotation) and 1-bit PCM mode mixing (which probably could not be done on an IBM PC without a Math Co-Processor.)

First an IBM computer sang Daisy Bell and now this, what's next? Fantastic work! (and yes I noticed the 2 mistakes at the end, but I'm pretty familiar with the song having recorded a Ukulele cover of the song on another channel)
