It has been 31 years ago that the Canadians won their last Stanley Cup . Now over 30 teams play lifeless clone hockey . I'm 65 years of age , I began watching hockey at the age 5 ( 1964 ) . Jean Beliveau of the Canadians was the Man of the 60's and then in 1970 came Ti-Guy Lafleur . It took 3 years and the disposal of his helmet before he could feel at home and there was no stopping him from that moment until 1980 . I consider myself a very fortunate person to have lived Stanley moments and parades on Ste-Catherine's blvd and to have watched the most spectacular player in the history of hockey . When they closed the old Montreal Forum to open the new Bell Center , I retired from hockey ! Vive Guy Lafleur . So

I grew up in the 90's, born in 1990, My father is from Pittsburgh, my mother New Jersey. By some stroke of luck, my father's career landed in Western New York. I had the privilege of hearing the great game of hockey from RJ. I played ball hockey in my driveway calling goals in the RJ style and voice like many Buffalo area kids my age did. RJ is hockey to me, forever will he live on in my memories.

He saw the puck heading towards Perry. He threw the hit thinking Perry was going to receive the pass. Clean shoulder hit, but the play was interference and should have been a penalty.

Not even a hard hit. Just an unfortunate accident.

This was 100% Murphys fault. Parallel to the boards, turns 90° to face the boards, back to guy in process of delivering hit. Stupid attempt to draw penalty. If you turn your back to a guy 3 feet away, you ddeserve ezactly what you get.

Looking back, what a treat we got to witness this in the playoffs. Am I mad we lost in 5? Oh, 100%. But, how many times do you get 2 rivals head-to-head in the playoffs that hated each other as much as these 2 teams did?

Bruins fan. Guy was incredible. Bobby, Guy, Mario..were heralded before their NHL careers...these three lived up.to and beyond anything we could have imagined. They're three greatest I've ever seen..with Chicago's #9 and Your #4. But my opinion means shit.

Guy Lafleur was not a living god. He was certainly a very good hockey player for his era but in other ways he was as dumb as possible like many people.
