1967. I was 11. My family just returned from Japan. My dad, USAF, was now stationed stateside. A new Buick was waiting for us at Travis AFB and, as a complete surprise, my mom and dad drove us to SoCal and our first visit to Disneyland. I was instantly and permanently in love with the Magic Kingdom. We stayed two nights at the Disneyland Hotel. Many, many visits later, the memories of that first time are still my “happy place.” I continue to visit three times a year - Pride Nite, Dapper Days and Halloween. Though I reserve a DVC one-bedroom in the Grand Californian instead of staying in the Disneyland Hotel. Thanks for the tour!
