Hi! Im in love with the way you made the skirt! I have about the same measurements as you but the fabric I have doesn’t cover even half the width needed for the last tier. Even if I get extra fabric (45 in width each) I barely make it! Any advice would be helpful!🥺🥺🥺

@@Mindfulmae Yeah that's pretty much it. It's about four yards in length but 45 inches in width. With two, it would only be 84-90 inches combined. I really want it to be flowy but do you think I might have to cut the measurments in half?

@@Butterfly_Princess264 I think that’s your best bet to cut the amount in half. It would still be cute not as flowy! Sometimes I wish mine was less puffy. I love the look of a tiered skirt that sits a little closer to the body 🤗

I stumbled on your channel last year shortly after I got my sewing machine and was looking for easy styles to replicate and that skirt was perfect for me. I was so excited that I was able to make it but I didn't put the slit. I'm sorry I didn't come back to comment last year. I even shared the link to that skirt with my friend's daughter who just got a sewing machine last month. Thank you again😊

@@kone.handmade It is a commitment! I would encourage you to just start with what you have! I have never had high quality equipment but I don’t let that stop me! Maybe someday I can upgrade, but everyone has to start somewhere! As long as you enjoy it, keep making videos!!

Placement of straps can't be same width, back distance between straps should be 1/2" wider than front on either side, this way straps stay in place without falling...

Absolutely! If I understand right, you need to sew some shorter rectangles together to get the correct width for each tier? You can totally do that!

Can I use my widest hip/butt measurement instead of my waist? A common problem with skirts and dresses for me is that the waist fits, but the skirt looks oddly fitted at my butt. Thanks! 😊

I think you could! It would just be more fabric to gather when inserting the elastic, but it makes for a fuller looking skirt, which is lovely!

Hey just an idea, it looks like your sewing machine likes to fight with you while sewing 💔 Get a silicone- nonstick mat for cooking and place it under, I think that'll really help! Not that you asked, don't mind me trying to be helpful 🙈

Hi! It’s tricky to explain in words. I would definitely recommend watching a KZfaq video on how to do gathering stitches!

SEW 2 rows of basting stitches (long, loose stitches, either by machine or by hand) and pull the fabric to the desired length, spacing the gathers as evenly as you can for all around gathers. Not difficult to explain!!
