I had a neighbor tell me he used to get chased by white kids with bats while adults looked on without saying anything. They also used to throw broken glass in the public pools where black kids swam. I had an old white guy tell me there used to be violent white mobs when black people tried to move in that nobody talks about anymore. I had a 2nd generation Italian complain to me on the street about immigrants these days, as if Philly was never one of the major Italian mob cities in America.
