This game was two ships passing in the night. Southern Miss had Louisville's number for years prior to this game. Louisville hasn't lost to Southern Miss since - including the rest of the time Louisville was in C-USA and a few non-conference meetings afterwards. And the two programs have gone in radically different directions.

I was at this game and hundreds more. Worked on the floor pulling cable for the camera man... Got paid to watch the ville, this game, the syracuse game (last game at freedom hall) and the last second three from brian kiser to beat UCLA were loudest ive ever heard the hall. I wish we were still playing there

I watched a part one of this game on a different channel. I could not find part 2,3,4 etc. from that guy. I only speak for me, You could turn my "like" into four or five likes by doing something like that, with all the parts available.. I love the old Louisville games, Thank you so much Brian.

New Mexico was better than Louisville. Drew Gordon going out in the first half was really bad luck for them. He came back in the second half and still dropped 21 and 14 on the Cardinals who had no answer for him. By then, however, it was too late, as Louisville was able to take control of the game with him in the locker room. Tough break for Los Lobos that day. They were probably a Final Four team.

Washington’s then-coach Lorenzo Romar used to compete against Louisville in Conference USA when he was at Saint Louis.

The best coach in UW history as a SLU alum and Saint Louis native, I think Lorenzo stays at SLU for a long time if Washington doesn’t come open in the spring of 2002. UW is probably the only job he takes because he was going home

Still makes no sense that Louisville was a 4 seed this year. They were at worst a 3 seed, but really should’ve been a 1 or 2

Credibly yes. Iowa St winning the Big XII tournament (#3E) caused a swap between the weakest 3 and top 4. Back in 2005, we were the top #4 seed with a (29-4) record and was sent WEST. Kentucky was a nightmare matchup for everybody in their bracket because of their size and rebounding.
