Considering we see Yugi's expressions during the part where Atem is dueling I like to think Yugi tapped into Atem's power at the end. I know they have the scene where they share a glance I just want to believe Atem was going to intervene but Yugi pulled it out at the last second and their silent exchange is Atem simply saying "Well done Yugi"

Diva tried to kill his boy. Atem sped across the afterlife to prevent that shit from happening. Atem since the beginning of his bond with Yugi taps into his true power when Yugi is threatened.You hurt his boy you are frankly messing with him.

No doubt he loves him. He admitted that he places Yugi above himself. That is basically his boy, trusted partner and real family that he has in his life no pun intended. He sped across the afterlife cause Diva tried to kill his boy. You mess with Yugi you are basically going to face torture with Atem.

Ufff this whole scene is just perfect, from Atem literally materializing, how he does his draw of destiny by taking out the card he wants, to the jewel in the crown, which is Mahad kneeling in front of his pharaoh when he comes out of the card, just perfect from the start Anyway, especially since Atem didn't say a single word ❤

Dude came back from his peaceful rest in the great beyond one more time to save the world and prove the heart of the cards will never fail. Draws the exact card he needs which probably didn’t exist until he drew it. Played a monster without looking not skipping a single beat just to kick this cubic guys ass. It’s as if he was never gone and then as quickly as he returned he left us again
