I have a one owner unit, brought back from Germany in 1970 and it sounds fantastic! I found it locally, needed a good service/cleaning, which I did myself. This little receiver replaced $8000 in gear, hooked up to a pair of Zu Omen Dirty Weekend speakers and bought a Mofi StudioDeck TT, audio nirvana. The phono preamp in this Sansui is simply incredible, very airy, tube like, as is the stereo in general on the 4000. And the bass, I have never owned any piece of modern gear that could actually produce bass like I am getting out of this baby. I have two SVS SB-3000 subs, I don't need them.

@@IJS92Yes sir! You pair this old Sansui with these Zu DW6 Supreme speakers, and I am in audio nirvana. Nothing I have had through here could do what this Sansui so easily pulls off.

I have one of these and use it just about every day. My uncle bought it in Germany as well around the same time. Very likely from the same place. Mine has the wooden enclosure around the chasis. I run it with a set of Pioneer CS-53's that were purchased with this tuner. I ended up getting a small Bluetooth receiver box to run into the AUX channel, and now I have a 1970 Bluetooth stereo!

Não gostei desse bracelete. Parece que não é do relógio, que foi improvisado. Desvaloriza o Seamaster. Me lembra aquela imitação horrível de pulseira Nato que o James Bond usa no Rolex em OO7 contra o Satânico Dr. No.

I have a chance to buy one here in a couple of days for $2,200. He says it's been shopped and everything. Should I go for it? This looks like a fun game.

This was purchased from DHGate for $90 including shipping. The ad showed a higher quality replica, so it was a bait and switch deal. It has an automatic movement that gains about 10 seconds per day, which isn't terrible. You can spend $600 on a super high-end replica, or $9000 on the real thing, but the chick sitting next to you at the bar won't be able to tell the diff, but your wallet sure will, which will leave enough extra to buy that girl a few drinks!

For $90 bucks its great. Keeps time, comfortable on the wrist. Got several compliments over the weekend, no one suspected it was fake. Only those of us who obsess over watches can tell the slight differences, and the other 99.5% don't give a rat's ass about your watch or mine, good or bad.

I have one of these as well...got it from my dad. I want to connect my soundbar to it...I have an old record player connected to the phono inputs...problem is my new soundbar does not have a proper connection to connect to the speaker outputs on the back on the Sansui. I bough an auxiliary cable since my soundbar has that connection but this cable also does not fit into the speaker channels...is there an adapter I can get for this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If your soundbar is only designed for digital 2.1 or 5.1 input, it won't work with any analog tuner that has tradition L&R out connections. Optical connections weren't a thing on these old tuners, so that option is out as well. I'm sure there is product that will convert the analog signal, but then you lose the reason for listening - better sound quality. I would ditch the sound bar and get some legit speakers that will plug right into that old tuner, and sound great!

So Mortimer, what type of vintage tuner(s) do you have? Any thoughts on Sansui? I've always thought their bang-for-the-buck was second to none.
