Что к чему??

after much practice I might suggest a 1/8 inch seam allowance vs. a scant quarter inch. They were just coming out too small to trim EVERY time. Love the video and pattern. Thank you.
@juliahowlett10083 ай бұрын
actually that didn't work either. No matter how hard I try I cannot get the 9 1/2 inch petal to finish at 9 1/2. ANY suggestion would be appreciated as I have the whole quilt cut out! Thank you!

My blocks are coming out under 9 1/2.....I guess a REALLY scant seam allowance is required?

I think there are so many variables. I find using a fine piecing thread like Aurifil or Superior Thread's Masterpiece gives me the best results. But, yes, go with a scanner seam if you are having issues and make sure the pressing is as good as can be.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply! I’m going to keep practicing on scrap fabric until I get it, right!

I just saw on IG that you have a Reflections kit... does this mean you will be doing a QAL? If so I might just bite on that one lol

Interesting technique. As a tutorial for quilters of many skill levels, please set a good example and close the rotary cutter. Ask me how I know.

Trisch, should I trim the Large Sail block to 6” x 9-1/4” as shown on the pattern? After trimming the vertical edge as shown in the video, my block measures 6” x 9-1/2”. Should I trim the extra 1/4” from the top or bottom?
@hadleystreetquilts36692 жыл бұрын
Trim it to 9-1/4", take it off the top.

Thanks for the information. I've picked some large print from FQs and added some light , medium, dark. Hopefully they will all work. I am doing stripes from selvages.

Another great video! I have never done it, but this inspired me to try the leaders and enders. It always seemed like a pain, but you make that look easy and it will help have smooth seams at each end. Thanks! Off to sew triangles!!!

I'm going to try pressing my seams open - never done that but it seems like a good idea to prevent bulk.

As a new quilter, I would have loved to have seen the layout process in real time and had some commentary on why you chose to layout the triangles the way that you did. Perhaps the next video can take it a little slower?
