You dont have a real sebenza to compare it- then DONT. Its almost always junk, and if not they lie. ALWAYS. I have an izula replica and its not d2 steel because got checked it in lab. Its not bad, but its not what it is. Sheath in it is better than original. But here we have got a folding knife, and smallest quality issue will make it break. They quite often are not reparable due to poor quality screws.

For those looking for a low cost option try the Condor Trivitatta Puukko. The blade is slightly shorter just under 4 inches , its exactly a palms width for me. I am blown away by the knife and will have a video on Airiks Knife Reviews soon. Common Sense Outdoorsman did a couple vids on the knife which made me have to buy one. Its a hidden gem and not talked about much on KZfaq.

A few comments from a guy who has lived all over northern Alaska for 50 years. In your airplane, or snowmachine or aboard your boat along with a good sheath knife you need a light saw and an axe. Lots of choices but an axe, not a hatchet although a hatchet will do in a pinch. All tools sharp to begin with and carry a stone or hone that you know works to put an edge back on if necessary afield which you want to prolong as long as necessary. You'd also be wise to carry a good quality pocketknife with a couple of blades, like a trapper or stockman pattern or a Swiss Army. For the past 30 years or so, add a Leatherman type tool too. Save your sheath knife for fish & game chores and the like. And while scraping tinder is a nice skill you'd be a lot better off with some good fire starters, lots to choose too, even if it's only cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly. Below zero, you don't have a lot of time to play Boy Scout. That's what a RMK was designed for, serious field use but about 75% owned are semi closet queens. I've owned a few RMKs. Don't ever let one go dull on you in the bush.

Would this knife be good for outdoor utility? Like hunting camping? Also for military use?
@adamkadir38037 ай бұрын
No, across the board. The blade design is useful exclusively for penetrating soft targets, but any sufficiently tapered knife will be good at penetrating. In Australia this knife costs a couple thousand dollars .. For something that a cheap spanish knife could do for hunting, that esee could do for theater use. Both would outperform this knife. I like some of striders folders and one of his fixed blades. This one however, is a wall hanger.

Ya, ok, so the "real" sebenza has no more milled out than the clone Inkosi may be different, dont own one, dont like them. Your comparison is fundamentally flawed. You dont compare a chrysler vs a kit car chevy. Get a fake inkosi to compare, or a real sebenza. That said, the main, noticeable difference.will be.blademsteel,.with the fake having d2 or 8cr13mov.
@Montblanc19868 ай бұрын
They don’t offer same for same. The fakes are a blend of designs. It’s sort of a 21 with a ceramic ball interface and a thicker blade like an Inkosi.

I spine wacked my clone sebenza and the d-10 bearing shattered,i barely wacked the back of the blade in open lock up position,the knife folded first strike the second strike shattered the d-ten ball.if the real sebenza is like this i would never buy it. I'm skeptical of buying one for the fact nobody has tried this test other than me.

Cool man thanks for a honest review. What makes the knives so expensive is they had to buy all the precision cnc machines and the machines to do the heat treatment and the finish those machines are probably not cheap to have serviced or repaired plus the Chris Reeve company has a lifetime warranty on all their knives you have to put a high price on items with a good warranty cause if they were cheap and everyone bought them then there would be alot more getting broken them warranted and the company would be going bankrupt in no time. And i don't know if you mentioned anything on the blade stock but its not cheap like 440C or that other steel material they use on their stop pins, the premium powder steel they use on their blades that Chris Reeve and crucible powder metals came together and made up s35vn and a few others those are not cheap materials so to pay the employees and all the other things i mentioned yea its a bit higher than it can be but i think its for the right reasons. I want something that ill pay for and other people wont and that separates the average guy from the collector connoisseur type
@steverice7546 Жыл бұрын
Don’t think they can continue to justify the high unit prices because of the cost of the manufacturing machinery. If you use that model, the prices should start insanely high at the beginning of production, and drop incrementally as they make more and more. Gotta be a point of diminishing returns, somewhere. I think they hit on a high price that folks can/will pay, so they continue to charge that much. I own one and the materials and build quality, and warranty are all top shelf. But then again, so are Rolex Submariners, but I’d hesitate to drop $10k+ on a stainless steel watch. Name recognition sells a lot of the time.

I love it when knife guys post videos to show off their knives and then spend the first 1/2 of the 10 minute video continually twisting and turning the CLOSED knife so we have to look at the scales over and over and over again. You finally decide to show us the actual knife when most of us are good and pissed off that you did your video like this. By that time I just leave and find another video from someone that actually KNOWS how to show off a nice knife. I’d sooner take a 2x4 to the sack than watch another of your knife videos.
