The capstan assembly didnt need to come all the way out. You loosen the two setscrews thst holds the flywheel to the shaft. When returning the flywheel to the shaft, you get the .001" needed clearance, with the rear bracket in place and you push in on the shaft and move the flywheel up to the front and back off a light touch snd snug down a setscrew to check clearance. Its in the service manual.

I just purchased the 2340R. I have not even plugged it in yet, its pretty dirty and needs to be cleaned. I also purchased a Teac 1250 and a Technics 1506. They are all in rough shape. I been posting it on my Stage Monkey channel. I have not had a chance to look at any of these units and I paid $300 for all 3. I hope it was worth it! lol

Thanks for making this. I love the way you “flavoured” the left hand in the intro for the synth by adding the second and third notes of the scale. I was only playing 5ths in my very basic arrangement. Now it sounds much better thanks to this. My level is late beginner/early intermediate and this tutorial is helping me break through some barriers.

Hi Waylon, I was wondering if you can help as I see that you have some experience with 3340. My right reel table is making scraping noise. I tried swapping out the reel table and still the same issue with the right side (thought it might be a bent reel table as it feel fwd during transit). Any solution on how to fix the issue?
@montefullmer2091
@montefullmer2091 8 ай бұрын
You take the side panels off and with a 2mm Allen, you loosen up the two setscrews that locks the table assembly on the motor shaft. The clearance between the base of the table and deckplate is 2mm. Get that spacing and tighten up the two setscrews and put the side panels back on.

Hi Waylon, I have a question for you. I have tried twice now from two "different" brands (they were identical), to purchase NAB Hub adapters on Amazon. They are all the same design from China. They don't fit my brand new NOS (almost) TEAC 3340. I love the look with all that shiny aluminum but what the heck? When mounted on a 10.5 reel correctly they have expanded out just enough that the 3 spline reel table locking lug won't spin over the center and capture it. If I intentionally misalign the back tabs on the hub adapter so they push through a reel of tape I was able to lock the 3 spline shaft but now the hub itself is not locked on the reel of tape and all manner of fun could possibly happen at high wind speeds. Have you had luck with the Burlington or the expensive french REM versions? Or is there another solution? Best, Tod
@Guitar28000
@Guitar28000 11 ай бұрын
Hi Tod, Thanks for your comment - I wish I had more insight on the different NAB hub adapters you mentioned, but I haven't tried any of those types. When I bought this deck, it came with the stock adapters and I've just stuck with those. So aside from looking at some of the shiny aluminum ones on eBay, I can't say anything definitively from experience. But - it does seem like with most aftermarket upgrades, usually the more high end expensive gear offers better customer support and seems to pay more attention to the details. Whenever I've tried cheap Chinese copies of other products, I typically get what I pay for and experience some of the frustration like you mentioned. Food for thought, but that probably wasn't super helpful to your question so I apologize... If you end up trying out the Burlington or REM, let me know how it goes! I'd be curious. Thanks, Waylon

Hi Waylon, I would like to use your cover as a backing track to a multimedia presentation that will be shown at a public gathering, but wanted to ask your permission. Is there a more proper way to reach you? The event will be attended by approx 1,500 people and is a memorial service for a person who gave a great deal back to the world. We also plan to make the event and the multimedia presentation available as two separate videos on YT afterwards and are investigating livestream opportunities. We already had it in the script to credit you and we’d be open to you hosting both videos on your channel if would drive more people to your channel. Let me know how to best communicate w you.

Hi there - thanks for reaching out. Please feel free to use this track on your multimedia presentation in whichever capacity is easiest for you to put together, no need to host it on this channel. Sounds like it will be a great event in memory of a great person. Thanks again!

A very stunning job, in terms of production, mixing and execution. The guitars and bass parts are simply perfect. The wurlitzer piano is amazing, its haunting sound just adds the right amount of mistery to Gordon Lightfoot's words and wonderful music.

Hello! I would like to ask if i may have your permission to use your cover as a backtrack for a piece on my native flute? I will have to change the key and tempo, but of course I would include a credit to you and a link to your channel. I have been wanting to do a cover of this as a tribute to Gordon and yours is the best backtrack Ive found.

The problem with tape is it’s rolled off top end, hiss, it’s also not linear. The analog sounds more narrow and focused. Like a center channel speaker.
