I have just downloaded mastercam 2022 for at home use so that I can continue my classwork there. Your video was definitely helpful, but even after pressing the show grid button, it does not show the origin grid like I want. Do you have any idea what may be preventing this from showing if I followed your directions?

I assume you are talking about the show grid button in the view tab. If you are still not seeing it after enabling that, it could be your color scheme settings that you are using. Try changing the background screen color. I am still using Mastercam 2021, and believe it or not, functionality of the darndest things can change from version to version, but give the screen color change a try to see if that enables you seeing the grid.

Hi, I am using a Magic MJK 1530 CNC machine with RICH AUTO A18E Controller. The machine used to run smoothly until a few days ago. But at present the CNC cannot read the NC file from both USB as well as from the internal drive. It reads " Unknown file type". The thing that confuses me is that all previous program files, even from 3 years back runs smoothly. But no new programs can be processed by the machine. I thought my programming was the problem. But i used the old CADCAM models, for which its corresponding NC works, but a newly post processed file doesnt work, even though i havent changed anything. I tried changing formats from .nc, .ncd, .mmg, .g, .plt etc but for all these files the Controller screen displays the message " Unknown file Type". Do you have any solution for this. If there is please do help me out.

If you are post processing out of Mastercam, check to be sure you are using the correct machine definition for your CNC machine. Other things that come to mind without knowing other details are have you changed CAM package versions, or has the machine controller gone through a software update? This response is a bit delayed because this channel was created predominantly for my Manufacturing Engineering students at Penn State Altoona, and I don't check this for comments very frequently, since they ask me questions in class or via email. I am alot more active on LinkedIn, but I will try to check comments here more frequently!
