If your computer is still running fine with no issues or complaints, that’s fine! Just make sure you have adequate virus protection and are backing up all of your important files in the cloud or external hard drive. You never know when the laptop could give out which will cause you to lose everything not backed up. Microsoft doesn’t support anything older than windows 11 anymore (they are about to stop support for windows 10), so just be aware of that. No support usually means less security and compatibility. Windows should be up to date to keep up with all the changes in technology, whether used for good or against people by bad people.

Lenovo? Hell no I have a 2020 Vivobook 14 from Asus, i5 10210u mx250 gpu. Battery life kind of sucks, used to last 6-7 hours now lasts 2-3. If i replaced it it'd be fine. The mx250 is better than the iris xe if you use asus gpu tweak or msi afterburner. The laptop was 650$, no touchscreen but I wanted a laptop. I heard microsoft's surface are pretty good but if framework sells laptops in your region and you want a laptop for years, get one. If you don't do anything that needs windows software or don't game and you've got a higher budget. Get a macbook... Preferably a macbook pro with the M series chip, even a refurbished one will do

Most of the digital markets do not sell Thinkpad. Is it too expensive for ordinary people ?
@Notebookshop
@Notebookshop Ай бұрын
It's probably more so due to the fact a lot of ThinkPad's are marketed towards business/professional/enterprise users. So a business will purchase in bulk directly from a vendor like us and we'd send them an invoice! We're unique in that we sell to both consumers and businesses. That being said, ThinkPad's are definitely great for both ordinary people and business professionals alike. We have ThinkPad's as low as $499! As you know, they can also be configured as high as $10k+

The main issue with the panel is a 1920x1200 max resolution with touch support. Going 3K removes multitouch, which is a PITA. For comparison Asus will ship their X13 at 2500x1600 with touch, so I don't get why Lenovo can't.

whats the difference between this and say a T14s?
@Notebookshop
@Notebookshop 2 ай бұрын
Hello. The P14s is considered a "workstation" class laptop, so it will have those benefits, such as better build quality, more isv certifications, more security features, etc. The T14s is usually known to be a good option for businesses who don't need anything fancy, but want something reliable and professional. They usually only have integrated graphics. So no dedicated gpu, however, most professionals don't need one for daily work tasks. The P14s we carry in stock only has integrated graphics as well, so it's a good option for professionals who need a solid laptop for work or productivity. Great for students as well. I've personally held and used both, and the P14s definitely feels much more solid and durable, but still lightweight. We also offer it at a lower price than the newest T14s. Hope this helps!

Can you do 4k video editing at that laptop?
@Notebookshop
@Notebookshop 2 ай бұрын
The configuration we carry does not have a dedicated gpu which could be a dealbreaker for a lot of pro video editors, however it handles basic video editing just fine. 4k raw or log footage from a prosumer/pro camera is questionable, but 1080p footage should be fine. We were able to edit 4k d-logm footage (DJI) on a thinkbook with some lag, which is an extremely low end machine compared to the p14s. If video editing is your profession, i would definitely recommend something like the P1, P16, or P16v instead. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Not every laptop over 1000 has a dedicated gpu. Look at the price of a macbook. Those don’t have dedicated gpu’s either. Or a 1000 dollar dell xps. Some also don’t have a dedicated gpu. My laptop was €2000 and its got a i7 12700u and a rtx3060. I know its overpriced but i love it and with my personal experience its worth it. Its not about the price. Its about the user experience

Hello. I would definitely ask your professors as to what they'd recommend as they know what kind of work you'll be doing throughout your 4 years of study. From what we've seen, students don't need extremely powerful laptops, but if you plan on also working while studying, or just want a powerful machine for future proofing purposes (or to game on the side), we'd recommend something more powerful. I would suggest a screen size of 15 inches or more as a base and something with a dedicated gpu and at least 8gb of ram (higher the better). There are some higher end T series models such as the T16 that might be a good fit for you. Otherwise, we'd suggest the P series, which are more powerful workstation laptops designed for professionals! You can either get newer models, or discontinued models that are still great but more affordable. P1, P16, P16v or P15 are some options.
